  1. Exactly. In long term dependability I would bet serious cash that damned near any GM vehicle (Astrovan, Cavalier, Aztec, whatever you want to keep in the mix-keep them all in the mix) is probably more reliable than anything from Europe and equal to or better anything from Korea. Probably better. Long term wise I am really interested to see where the newest generation of GM cars stack up. Chris
  2. The Durango sounds like it might make a nice trade in on a Colorado Crew Cab. The Colorado will get close to the original beatle in fuel economy and be infinitely better in terms of safety, reliability, comfort, hauling capacity, emissions/damage to the environment, ride quality, etc. I'm all for small cars, but this is going a little too far. Besides, the Bug could be a good donor for a Manx buggy for a summer car.... Chris
  3. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy it here. Unlike the Mustang forums that seem to be over-run with people who are dumber than my cat, there are some really intelligent people here. Now let's get back to all the good BS about GM. Chris
  4. Exactly...if it makes you feel any better my wife loves our xB, but right now she is lusting after an HHR. Which in a lot of ways is a better vehicle-smoother ride, better highway manners, cool retro styling, Onstar, etc. While I own a Scion I like the direction that Saturn is taking much better than Scion. Saturn has allowed itself to be re-defined because the market has been re-defined. Scion meanwhile has painted itself into a corner as a "youth market" brand. If I was to be asked which was goping to be around as a car company in fifteen years I would put money on Saturn being here and Scion being gone, Chris
  5. The 3 is indeed a hell of a car.... Chris
  6. they actually might sell a lot of them in a hurry. Chris
  7. Say what you will, but Toyota/Scion are moving these things. Hate it all you want but there is a waiting list around here to get the new xB. Chris
  8. Saw a Wild looking restored Volkswagen Kharman Ghia in Coral Pink. Does that count? Chris
  9. Nor can our local dealer keep the Prius in stock. Chris
  10. I hate to admit it but your right, damned right. Chris
  11. Let's not insult the Koreans. Chris
  12. Mini up 12.5%! Chris
  13. Actually I am suprised Mazda scores so low. What is more telling is to go drive cars that are 5 years old/100,000 miles. G.M. products hold up better than a lot of other cars. Chris
  14. Perhaps someone hadn't come off a bunch of mushrooms.... Chris
  15. I am so happy for you. You are going to LOVE that car. Cars of that Era rode so Damned well. Good Luck! Chris
  16. This is to the original xB what the MustangII was to the original Mustang. I own an xB (first gen) and don't like the second gen. At all. Chris
  17. Depends on what you want. Going back to the Impala thing...GM has more dealers nationwide IIRC than anyone. I am planning on travelling a lot with my next car. Should the damned thing decide to break down in Sundance, Wyoming I'm much more likely to be able to get a Chevy fixed than something else. There are reasons of all sorts for still buying the Impala. Or the Civic. Chris
  18. My guess-1958 Ford Fairlane Retractable. Am I close? Chris
  19. At least it's faster than a Corolla. Chris
  20. With the value Rat Rodders are putting on "Patina" I hope Fly gave you at least ten grand for that thing. Amazing what a mere 50 years in the salt belt will do to a car. Chris
  21. Import Humper... Buys American! One of the guys I work with was telling us Friday how he was going to go out and buy a car. Told the guys on the crew that a Honda was not good enough for him and only an Acura would do. Kevin Laughed in my face when I told him he might consider domestic cars. Told me I was nuts for even thinking it. So this morning in the parking lot before work, we are all shooting the bull and drinking coffe and...Kevin rolls up in a metallic red Mustang GT convertible. Says he loves it and thanks me for suggesting American products. He told me it was really obvious American products had improved dramatically. Too bad the Camaro and Challenger were not in production yet...would have been cool for him to have had some more choices. Not that I think the Mustang was a bad choice by any means. He should be really happy with the car. (And yes I got to ride in it.) Chris
  22. Lately I've seen a bunch of older (past 50) guys driving really riced Honda's. I have no idea why. Chris
  23. Do you guys have a link to BON? Chris
