  1. Id like to know how it will play out too. but it couldnt be any worse for Pontiac. Saturn is on its way up, for 06 they get this car. next spring the new Aura midsize sedan debuts and I like the optional 250hp dohc V6, finally a GM car to challenge the accord and altima.. for 2007 they get the new Lambda crossover.. in 2008 a new lambda minivan makes its debut.. for 2008 a new Ion makes its debut, pretty much a Cobalt with improvements although the Cobalt will recieve the same upgrades when it gets a facelift at the same time.. the two are also rumored to share the same assembly line in Ohio.. for 2009 a new Vue debuts. other models id like to see Saturn ADD.. 2009 Gamma subcompact. this would be essencially a reskinned next gen Chevrolet Aveo.. but would be more upscale than the Aveo.. 2010 pickup/sut.. they need some sort of SUT sort of like the Honda Ridgeline, it would be based on the next gen Chevrolet colorado,
  2. id like to see a Pontiac G6 police cruiser.. i think it would make a good one especially if they used the 3.9L V6..
  3. ive heard that the HHR will be exported to Europe starting next year... anyone else heard anything about this?? I think the HHR would do good over there. I wonder if the Cobalt SS supercharged would do well over there as well??
  4. i think they should build an AWD cobalt. but it would need an engine around 240-250 hp. maybe if they supercharged the 2.4L ecotec. it would be ok if it was ready for the 2008 model year. the cobalt is schduled to recieve a facelift for the 08 model year, the same time we will see a new Saturn Ion.. we probably wont see a whole new cobalt until around 2011 or even 2012.. so there is still time to upgrade this one.. there is talk of raising the HP on the SS supercharged for 2007 to around 220 hp, up 15 hp from the 06 model..
  5. this car would ok for the U.S. market but it looks too much like a Malibu. if it was coming to the U.S and Canada id rather see it as a Buick. Buick could use this car more than Cadillac in the United States... the CTS is the smallest car Cadillac should do in north america..
  6. Hopefully this car is coming to a Lordstown or Spring Hill assembly line soon with Saturn badges on it.. if they dont sell that car in the U.S. they really have no clue.. Could this car easily be built in Lordstown alongside the Cobalt??
  7. Id like to see them get the Zeta production models, or get the new lambda minivans. really if they close the doraville plant who will build the next gen minivans?? can lansing grand river build the crossovers and the minivans at the same time?? Lansing grand river is essencially replacing the old Grand am/Alero plant.. which i think was GM's oldest N.A. assembly plant.. sometimes its cheaper to build a whole new assembly plant then to remodel an old one.. with new production practices they are able to build a variety of models on the same assembly line. example the Cobalt, Ion, Persuit, and HHR could all roll down the same assembly line. if GM wanted Lordstown to build HHR's within a few weeks they could be making them.. Cobalts could also be built in Spring Hill... an so on.
  8. with the Ion seemingly headed to Lordstown, Spring Hill TN is possible.. Oshawa Ontario is likely, Wilmington Del could be, Doraville Ga is possible if they dont get the Lambda minivans. the Lansing crafte center could be but there isnt enough volume capability.. the really dark horse in this one could be Janesville Wisconsin, really all the big SUV's could be assembled in Arlington Texas and Salio Mexico, so i wouldnt even leave them out..
  9. this is more than likely the engine lineup for the Camaro.. 3.9L OHV V6 250 hp, 5.3L OHV V8 330 hp, 6.0L OHV V8 375 hp.. id like to see the base camaro with the V6 and a 5 speed manual with a base msrp of $19,999(2005 dollars).. id also like to know where they plan of assembling the camaro.. could it be built in the under used factory in delaware that builds the Solstice?? with the Ion seemingly headed to Lordstown for the 2008 Model year is Spring Hill TN a possiblity?? if Doraville GA dont get the next gen minivans even they are a possiblity.. Dont rule out Oshwa Ontario eiether.
  10. the base Camaro will more than likely will be powered by the same 3.9L pushrod V6 that powers the G6, Impala, Monte Carlo.. it will have around 250 hp. a 5.3L V8 with around 330 hp will be an option, the SS version however will employ a detuned base corvette engine good for about 375 hp...
  11. I think there needs to be a mix between FWD and RWD vehicles. lets take Chevrolet for example.. of course the Aveo, Malibu and Cobalt remain FWD.. there could be an arguement to shift the Impala to RWD, but i think that would be a mistake. i would keep it FWD it sells quite well in its current form. so id say lets keep the Aveo, Cobalt, Malibu and Impala FWD.. then id convert the next gen Monte Carlo to RWD, this would be a slighly cheaper version of the next gen GTO. and unlike the GTO the new chevy coupe could be had with cloth seats and a standard V6 engine.. id also make a sedan version of this car. probably call it a Chevelle. this would do battle with the dodge charger. it would also be used for taxi and police fleets as well. this new chevelle would slot in between the Malibu and Impala sedans. there also is a case for a new Camaro. this would be a rwd vehicle and would be smaller than the monte carlo. the styling of this new camaro would have design cues of the 67-69 camaro. and would have the same engines as the chevelle/monte carlo. which would be a base 3.9L ohv V6, and with 5.3L and 6.0L V8s as options. as for an assembly location i would probably end up choosing Spring Hill TN. the Ion could be shifted to Lordstown Ohio. and Vue's could roll down the same Ontario assembly line as the Equinox..
  12. my dad must have been one of those " bad boys" he worked at Lordstown from 1968 to 2001.. I worked there as a contract employee from 02-03..
