they need to offer the 3.9L V6 as an option in the Equinox!! id even ditch the 3.4L and make the 3.5L V6 standard!! this would make it more competitive!! im sure both the 3.5L and 3.9L would be much quicker and the towing capacity would increase.. why are they still even using the 3.4L?? is this the only GM vehicle that still uses it?? all the other GM models have switched to the 3.5 and 3.9L V6's..
-
yeah they are going to do a retro of the 90's APV dustbuster minivans!!! early April fools joke!! if the new minivans are produced only the Chevrolet and Saturn will survive.. Buick and pontiac wont get versions..

Should Pontiac make a 4-cylinder G6 Coupe?
cavalier36 replied to ToniCipriani's topic in Heritage Marques
Ive driven the 4cyl and both V6's in the G6.. the 4 cyl isnt really that slow but both V6's seemed to operate much more smoothly, and the V6's were much smoother.. the 4cyl G6 seemed kinda buzzy.. I think the 4cyl is just there to satisify Alamo and Enterprise. and to keep cheap model in the fold for lower imcome people who need a bigger car than the Cobalt.. -
they might be able to sell 165,000 a year. there would probably be three trim levels, three diffrent engines, and it would come as a coupe and a convertible.. it would be atleast sold in the united states, canada and mexico.. maybe they could export a few thousand to australia?? to get the volume up im sure they could sell a few thousand to alamo and enterprise.. if they would build the next generation GTO on the same platform and build it in the same plant then there might be a case there also.. seems if there was a second model a pontiac or a buick using the same chassis but a diffrent body that might make it more likely..

i really like this car, i have a feeling it will be rolling down an assembly line within two or three years.. this thing will be the next solstice!! especially if they offer a V6 version and price it about 20-22 grand.. i dont think selling atleast 75,000 a year would be out of the question, one of them will be going to me!! im thinking the base camaro would be powered by the 3.9L V6 from the impala.. midlevel cars would have a 5.3L V8 worth about 320 hp.. and the top model would have the 6.0L V8.. i like the interior but my question is there room for an airbag in that steering wheel???
-
the base engine will probably be eiether the 3.5L or 3.9L V6. if they start it out around $20,000 for a base V6 coupe this thing will sell like crazy..
-
the base engine will more than likely be eiether the 3.5L or 3.9L V6.. probably the 3.9L.. with a 5.3L and 6.0L V8's as options.. If the production version looks like that ill be buying one.. I had two Camaro's a 96 V6 coupe and a 99 Z28..
-
I wouldnt mind seeing this car.. sort of like a mini V6 powered Corvette.. the 3.6L DOHC V6 would make that thing a road rocket.. id make it a hardtop coupe with a removeable roof like the corvette.. if they could keep the price around $28,000 it would be a bargain..
-
the Solstice is already getting the turbocharged ecotec for 2007 as an option. it will have between 240-260 hp.. If a V8 was offered it would probably be a 5.3L the same one used in the Impala.. the only problem with adding a V8 is added weight.. and a V8 model would cost around 30K.. another option would be a V6, does anyone know if the 3.6L DOHC V6 would fit in the solstice??

you probably wont see a new XLR atleast until 2010.. they will probably give it a facelift maybe for 2008 or 2009.
-
that thing looks like a mazda 5 clone.. like they just copied it and all the did was change the headlights.. all the Chinese do is COPY someone else's design.. and change the headlights so they wont get sued.. I seen a picture of a chinese car i forget what it was called but the thing looked like a Cavalier!! im sure a Chery HHR and Cobalt clone arent to far behind.. maybe GM can make a deal with them and sell them some of the tooling of cars they dont make anymore.. then they wouldnt have to copy. just change the headlights and we will sell you the tooling to the Geo Metro, Oldsmobile 88, chevy Corsica/beretta, and the S10..

yeah the accord kinda looks like an impala from the rear. i never really seen that till now.. we almost had to change the rear though since Hyundai ripped off the rear of the 05 accord for its sonata.. a new accord is probably atleast 2 years from now.. i heard the accord is being replaced for the 09 model year, and that its currently being designed..
-
could you imagine if toyota and GM would merge?? talk about unstopable.. other possibilitys would be Honda, or maybe Volkswagen.. none of this will ever happen so we wont have to worry about it..
-
im glad the 07 Camry looks like that!! I work for Honda.. i assemble Accord's.. I think the Accord and the G6 is a far better car than the Camry.. the 07 Saturn Aura and the 08 Malibu will beat our butt and Toyota's.. I dont think there is a new Accord until 2009 or so ive been told.. I work for Honda and i still ordered a Pontiac G6, my dad is retired from gm and i got a better deal on the G6, than what i would have got on an accord..
-
my favorite Impala model years was 1964, 1974, 1994-1996, and the 2006..
-
I actually put them on my 2004 cavalier. they look kinda good on it..
-
really it comes down to price.. I can get a better discount from GM because my dad is a retiree, and also he is going to let me use his $1,000 retiree bonus coupon. I wouldnt mind having an Acura TL, which is more of a competitor of the GTP, but the TL cost more than $5,000 more than the GTP..
-
it dont look all that diffrent from the production model.. atleast the headlights are identical!!! I ordered a G6 GTP and i should get it next month.. even though I work in the paint department for Honda in marysville.. we are going to add a third model , i havent seen it yet but it is a crossover probably simular to GM's lambda crossovers.. and we are prepping a new paint shop now to accomodate it..

would kind of make sense to build them in Wilmington. they probably wont sell 140k camaros a year but im thinking the next generation GTO will be built in the same plant, if its not built in australia.. some sort of sedan eiether a Buick or Pontiac will also likely be built on the same platform.. so if you added the Camaro, GTO and say a Buick sedan it would easily total 140K units..
-
Does anyone know where a new Camaro would be built at? Im thinking Spring Hill TN, because of the rumors over the summer that the next generation Ion would be built in Lordstown Ohio. the lansing crafte center because the SSR might get axed in the next two years. Doraville Ga if they lose the minivans, maybe Oshwa ontario.. Wilmington Delaware could have some extra capacity..
-
If you still have any doubt a Camaro is coming...
cavalier36 replied to Northstar's topic in Chevrolet
if the camaro does return it will more than likely be a 2009 model, but it will probably hit showrooms in January 2008. although I wouldnt rule it out being availible in the fall of 2007.. it will take atleast a year to get an assembly plant tooled for the model.. where it will be assembled is still unknown.. spring hill tn is possible if Ion production moves to lordstown.. could be built in Oshwa ontario, Doraville GA, lansing Mich.. -
I Can't Believe Chevy is Ditching the Maxx
cavalier36 replied to buyacargetacheck's topic in Chevrolet
yeah its true, the Maxx will die after the 2007 model year.. the Malibu gets reskinned for the 08 model year.. and from what ive heard there is only a sedan version in 08.. ive heard the 08 malibu is a home run though.. maybe they need to offer a wagon version of the 08 malibu. GM dont have any traditional station wagons. its a niche market but i still think they could sell decent.. -
there wont be many changes to the 07 malibu.. it will be totally reskinned for the 08 model year.. ive heard the next malibu is going to be a home run.. from people who have seen it.. ive even heard " it will be the modern day 55 bel air" not meaning it will look like it.. just means the 08 malibu will be GM's best midsize car it has ever produced..

why not just make a Saab version of the Saturn Vue?? but put the turbo 4 cyl from the 9-3 in it.. change the front clip and the interior and walla we have a saab crossover..
