Saturn will be GM's hot brand this year, Lutz says
cavalier36 replied to Northstar's topic in Heritage Marques
hopefully when the astra comes here it will be availible in sedan, 3 door hatch and convertible versions.. the convertible would be a good idea for those who cant afford a G6 convertible and for those who like the sky but want a back seat.. -
and 60X better than the Sunfire or Cavalier.. even though i own a 2004 cavalier.. and that steering wheel looks like the same one that is in my 06 G6 GT..

Colt45 Shooter.. have you recieved any Aura sedans yet? if not that car should be a decent seller.. you should get some cross shopping from prospective G6, Ford fusion and Malibu buyers as well as current Ion owners looking to upgrade.. -
Im guessing a version of the 3.9L V6 will be the standard engine, with 240 hp this will be more than enough.. I just dont see the 3.6L Dohc engine being used in Chevys anytime soon.. a 5.3L V8 will power midlevel cars and will make around 320 hp. the top camaro will have a 6.0L or a 6.2L V8 worth 385 hp..

if Honda is smart they will build this plant somewhere in Northeast Ohio. somewhere between Cleveland and Youngstown.. youngstown would be a good choice because there is a high unemployment rate, the real estate is bargain basement cheap, most workers there eiether have worked in manufacturing before or currently do. they cost of living is really low.. there are alot of suppliers in the area due to the fact GM's lordstown plant is in the area.

the second generation Aurora was meant to replace the eighty eight and LSS models. a new Aurora would probably have been built on the RWD sigma platform. I would have liked to seen what a new Intrigue, and a new Alero on epsilion would have looked like.. the Bravada and Silhouette would have still been the same. and the Buick Rainier and Saturn Relay probably wouldnt have existed.. I still belive the reason why Oldsmobile is no longer with us is because when they axed the 88/98/LSS they lost all those customers to Buick, the Chevy Impala and perhaps to Mercury..

GM plans to replace Saturn Ion with Opel car
cavalier36 replied to Northstar's topic in Heritage Marques
they will only import 40,000 units a year. but additional units could be assembled in Lordstown ohio, ramos arizpe mexico, or bring back a shift at spring hill.. -
First Zeta hits the road in down under testing
cavalier36 replied to hyperv6's topic in General Motors
i think we will see a version of this car in the u.s and canada.. what badge it will wear is unclear.. this isnt that big or a car, probably simular in size to a cadillac catera.. so this isnt going to replace the impala.. this will more than likely be eiether a pontiac or possibly even a saturn.. yes they already have the G6 and Aura. but one is fwd while the other one is rwd.. under this car is also the next GTO and the camaro.. -
if approved for production the Camaro would be built in the USA or Canada.. possible assembly sites include.. Wilmington Del., Spring Hill TN, Oklahoma City OKLA. or Oshawa Ont. Canada.. a replacement for the GTO would also share the same assembly line as the Camaro.. look for a concept GTO at the 2007 NAIAS..

I could see the next lacrosse being moved to epsilion II. with a Zeta buick sedan to slot in between the lacrosse and the lucerne..
-
they will probably put in the same seats as the Cobalt SS supercharged in the redline..
-
they should drop the 3.9L from the convertible and offer the 3.6L dohc V6..
-
id like to see Cadillac offer a more affordable coupe/convertible.. something about $35,000..

SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT
cavalier36 replied to Northstar's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
I kind of like this car.. like the G6 the 2.4L ecotec will become the base engine after 6 months from launch.. this thing does look alot like a G6 from the rear. not suprising since they are basically the same car.. they are going to take some heat with the pushrod 3.5L and 4 spd auto.. it looks like all the 3.5L will have a 20 hp increase for 2007. this means the malibu, G6 and impala will recieve the extra HP as well.. the 3.9L will jump to 265-270 hp also.. there will probably be a Redline Aura for 2008 that will offer a 6spd manual.. -
SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT
cavalier36 replied to Northstar's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
maybe when the lacrosse is updated it will have these features.. they need to put the 3.5L in the base lacrosse and finally send the 3800 to the big scrap yard in the sky.. -
this production picture could be the base sedan with the 2.4L ecotec.. this car is meant to take on the accord, camry, fusion and altima.. hardly exciting cars themselves. i wont offer my judgement until i see a production version in person..

I wouldnt mind seeing a new El camino.. if it was built in north america i dont think it would be too over priced.. it would probably have a V6 as its base engine.. I think it would do alot better than the SSR.. it would weigh alot less, and the price would start about $15,000 less than the SSR. Its looking like Oshwa ont. or Wilmington Del. are going to produce the Zeta cars.. maybe even both.. we could see the camaro, gto and maybe the elcamino built in wilmington. while the sedans, impala, buick sedan, and pontiac sedan would be built in oshwa..
-
I knew from the start no one would pay $43,000 for a S10 with a V8, that weighed 3 tons. when they announced the sticker i was like thats about 10K too much.. then when it first came out you had greedy dealers adding thier "market adjustment" to make it even worse.. you could get a corvette for the same price.. and for the same development cost we could probably had a new Camaro..

Photo gallery: Intrigues I've "owned"
cavalier36 replied to trinacriabob's topic in Heritage Marques
I used to own a black 1998 Intrigue. i was probably one of the youngest people to have one at the time. i was 21 when i bought it. alot of memories in that car. too bad the Intrigue had to go away for good it was a good car.. -
it will be replaced by the new delta township assembly plant. it was probably cheaper and more efficient to just build a whole new plant then to renovate one that old.. Ive never been to that plant but have had alot of my cars built there.. 89 cutlass calias, 95 grand am, 97 cavalier convertible, 00 grand am, 96 cavalier coupe and a 02 grand am gt.
-
there will be a new Chevy minivan for the 2008 model year. it will be built from the lambda platform and will be assembled in the new assembly plant that will build the Saturn Outlook and the Buick Enclave in delta michigan..
-
they need to replace the Ion Quick, ive been to a few car shows this year and the only Saturn people were even looking at was the Sky the Vue and the Aura when it was in cleveland.. you probably couldnt pay people to look at the ion and the relay.. the Ion will probably die after the 07 model year.. to move the Ion now they could probably give Alamo and Enterprise a good deal on them..
-
why wouldnt they just build it alongside the Equinox and Torrent in Ingersol Ontario??
-
its not bad looking, kind of looks like a shorter Equinox.. this same vehicle will probably be sold in europe so it will be smaller than the current Vue.. it will probably have the 2.4L ecotec as its base engine.. eiether the honda V6 or the 2.8L DOHC V6, which is a smaller displacement version of the 3.6L dohc V6.. will be an option.. I doubt the 3.6l will be offered because that will power the Outlook. plus the smaller 2.8L would be more popular in europe..
-
if the Astra is sold here it will probably feature the current ecotec's found in the Cobalt..
