At Ocean City for the annual Spring Cruise, I saw a two door Echo in black primer with misaligned body panels, a fart can exhaust, stock size tires with Pep Boys wheel covers and one of those aluminum, adjustable wings that was about a foot too wide for the car. Not totally sure it was for sale.

Evok, if you want to be respected for your "insider" position, you should refrain from jumping into this tit-for-tat, personal attack merry-go-round that degenerates certain threads here. How can you expect to be viewed as having the real deal when you allow some questioning members to pull you out of your catbird seat and onto the ground for a mud wrestling contest? Camino, you know I wasn't being a perv, right? I was just trying to bring a grin. I woke up yesterday morning with my back hurting and I don't know what I did to it. Now when I turn a certain way, or even breathe wrong... ouch. Also my water heater is leaking (it's in the garage against the wall to the laundry room) and now the baseboard trim in my laundry room is black with mold from the water. I bought a new water heater last weekend, but my mom's boyfriend (he's a plumber/electrician) couldn't come and help me hook it up until this afternoon when I get off work, so I've been piling towels around it to try to stop the dripping and I have a fan going in the laundry room to try to keep it as dry as possible... so bleh. I hope things even out for you soon, sir.

Hmmm... a late 80's, early 90's Jetta isn't a bad car. It seems VWs love high mileage, and they were honest VWs then, not pseudo luxury cars.

Mount for the rear swaybar? That would be way forward of where your primary damage is. If you're talking about the black rubber thing in the picture... that's a muffler hanger. It does look like your trunk floor is crinkled though. Trunk floors always surprise me at how well they pull back out. Yellow is a bear to match, I hope the bodyshop that fixes it does a good job for you, RBB. I'm glad you're ok and I hope the car is back to you soon.

Well, the episode is over as far as I'm concerned, but here are some facts to try to further clarify why I "flipped out" : We agreed to meet at a certain place for lunch. He saw me head toward my truck after I told him and the other friend I'd meet them there after I went to the bank. He knows I have no cell. He was driving the other guys. In conclusion, my reaction was tainted by my personal feelings for him, but, you don't change plans after the fact when you know there's no way to reach the person who's been separated from the group. That's not cool. That was my main malfunction, and I think I was at least partially justified in showing I was feeling put out by it. Back in the day, we used to do lunch every workday (3 or 4 of us), but work realities changed that so we now only do it on Fridays, so it's kind of a big thing (for him too, because he makes a point to ask me every week what we're doing).
