  1. R-title is same as Salvage. I don't understand that sentence in the ad "Previous storm has not been started" (WTF?) Vipes, I am going to have to side with these other guys who say forget this one. It's too far away from you. If something goes wrong, it would be a logistical nightmare to get it back down to KY. See all those wrecks in the background? Is this place a bodyshop that's selling it? The top looks more bunched-up than other Miatas I've seen, but the panel gaps on the front end... headlamp doors/hood/bumper (a difficult set of gaps to have right), and the decklid to quarters, and doors to fenders/quarters look decent in the photos. One word to beware of when purchasing a salvage car: hurricane. I am sure many shady dealers are going to try to sell Katrina cars. Don't fall for it. Miatas are a lot of times summer cars, or second cars, so a lot of them may not rack up high mileage. Time reduces their value, however. You should be able to find a clean early Miata closer to you with a good history. A little patience now will save a lot of headache after your purchase.

    June Buggies

I was merging onto the highway this afternoon, looking all cool, passing a geriatric Taurus, when a red CTS-V suddenly loomed very large in my rearview. I quickly dispatched the Taurus, then swung over to let the CTS-V fly. And fly he did, way down the road. It was enough to bring a tear of joy to my eye.
  5. I want the long-wheelbase car as our Impala, Monte Carlo, Invicta and Bonneville. They can leave the greenhouse alone for the Impala, I love it, but everything from the belt down should be unique for us here in the States. The short wheelbase car can serve as a basis for our Camaro and GTO. These photos are fabulous and give me even more hope for GMNA's future. Bring 'em on!
  6. I would like to see GM stop restricting color choice on its sportiest models. It didn't used to be this way back in the day. A Glacier Blue (among other colors) Impala SS or Monte Carlo SS would be goodlooking, with black leather.
  7. Oh no! I hope I can still get parts for my Tredia and Starion.

    Pizza! Pizza!

Mr. Y. Dart: yeah, I'm talking double thickness on the tortillas. gives it a nice foundation for the toppings. They stick together after it's baked with the toppings all gooey and hot.

  14. And they kind of did it overnight, plus they got shy about putting "Oldsmobile" anywhere on the cars for a while, and they changed their emblem. Too much change, too quickly, imo, without a plan to ride out the loss of traditional customers until the new cars could prove themselves.
  15. I saw the headline. What could anyone have against Canada?
  16. Yum, who doesn't like pizza? I like to make my own: preheat oven to 425 2 "snack size" whole wheat tortillas extra virgin olive oil pizza sauce shredded "Italian blend" cheese peckeroni chopped green pepper sliced black olives sliced mushrooms stack your two tortillas on a pizza pan and brush both sides with olive oil (tortillas make a delicious, thin, crispy crust) pizza sauce to taste top with cheese strategically place your peckeronis around the pizza green pepper pieces to taste sliced black olives to taste sliced shrooms to taste stick it in the oven @ 425 until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly, about 8 minutes if oven is preheated. take out of oven and let cool a few minutes so the cheese sets a bit, slice and enjoy over and over again. I just devoured two of these little guys and damn they're good! How do you guys build your pizzas?

  21. That means it was totalled in an accident or other insurance loss and was fixed. If the loss was recent, it may not have been a whole lot of damage due to the age and subsequent retail value of the car. If repaired properly, it can be a good car, but if it wasn't... it can be a nightmare buying a salvaged vehicle. Since I work in the bodyshop, and not service (where state inspections are done), I don't know every detail of PA's laws. I am assuming if the current owner has the salvage title, it would be no problem for you to purchase the car and get it registered. Can anyone here in PA help Vipes out on this point? My across-the-street neighbor just bought a late-90's Cobra Mustang with an R title (reconstructed, same thing as salvage), and he didn't mention any red tape getting it on the road. I do know that to get an R title after your total loss car is repaired is time-consuming and fraught with a bit of red tape here in PA. We've had a couple of customers who insist on keeping and fixing their total losses, and it ain't pretty when they start to blame us because their car sits on our lot, illegal to drive after it's fixed, for weeks until that title is approved.
