  1. Well, for hauling the things you mentioned, I'd recommend a pickup truck over an SUV. If you really want diesel, you know it'll have to be a 3/4 ton or heavier. Overall, I'd say Sierra K1500 extended cab with a 6.5 foot bed, 5.3L. Plenty of hauling area, yet still manageable for everyday.
  2. Yeah, sure. Not positive how scientific it is, but hey.
  3. I ventured out on Sunday morning to a local 24 hour diner for breakfast, just after it quit snowing. The road crews had done a fantastic job, but the roads were still snowpacked. My booth was in the front of the building, with a clear view of the intersection. During my time there, I saw an Escort overshoot the turn into the diner and almost tag the guardrail, and a new Acura TSX spin its front tires like crazy trying to get moving when the light turned green. Also, on the way in, the only car I saw in the ditch abandoned was a Honda Accord.
  4. Agreed, my mom's was 2 door, I don't think the four door was imported here. There was something so honest, plain, yet fun about it. And you cannot beat French cars for suspension travel, which affords a cloudlike ride.
  5. I still don't like the taillights, but the rest of it is growing on me.
  6. Hers had the big block. I think it was a 1.4L or something outrageous like that.
  7. My mom had an '82 Le Car. She loved it. It was white with tan vinyl interior and a wicker headliner (stock!) That thing was trouble free for her except for the exhaust system, and it rode sooo smooth, like a Cadillac. It leaned so far in turns, it scraped its door handles practically. She put 100k miles on it in 4 years and traded it on an '86 Camaro V6.

  10. Nice! Ah, the age of automotive innocence... so pure.
  11. Aww man, is that the car he bought, or just a representation? That is a sweet little honey, for sure.
  12. Yup, I was in Sixty8's Datsun too. Funniest thing it said was "Take me out drinking honey. I'm in the mood for some Sunoco!"

  18. Well, it would need to have steel body panels. I wonder if the ION's space frame can accept steel panels without modification...
  19. GT and GTP would mirror RSX and RSX Type-S. 2.4L and 2.0 SC. Something has to be done to make the car somewhat compelling.
  20. What the heck? The latest thing at work among the guys I am closer to is... ball tapping. They seem to take great pleasure in backhanding each other in the nuts. I tapped this one dude one time (the only time, since I feel funny doing it)... now it seems I'm a marked man. I found a 3 foot high piece of styrofoam in the shape of a tomb stone next to my desk with a message spray painted on it: R.I.P. Bill's nuts So I guess I need to wear a cup to work. Does anyone else have unruly workmates?

  24. There's nothing like a delicious, well priced meal, served by an attentive, good natured server, in a clean, well maintained restaurant. If the server is cute on top of all this, I will tip like crazy.
  25. I have some pics to share, but I need to have them scanned.
