    ...said the Chevy truck driver...
  2. How much is a SportCombi, close to 40 grand? Yes bobo... G6 GTP is a better choice, for the reason you mentioned, plus the sweet 3.9L.
  3. "Underseat heater and unit defroster" WTF?
  4. My local dealership has 3 new GTIs... 2 white and one red. They start at $21.9k. The two I looked at at the dealership MSRP at $25.3 and $25.7k. They have an awesome standard features list (Xenon headlights!), and I wouldn't need the DSG transmission, sunroof, or satellite radio... This may be heretical to say, but right now I think I'd sooner drive one of these than a Cobalt SS/SC. The GTI has 5 fewer horses, but 7 pounds more torque, plus it looks much more serious, less "boy racer" than Cobalt. I love the blue tinted glass, and the bluish-gray plaid cloth interior.
  5. Pontiac G6 GT sedan... sportier and much better looking than a Malibu, imo. Are you sure you're ready for a Buick? The only LaCrosse I really like is the CXS, and it's kinda pricey I guess. Impala, to me, manages to be a bit sportier, even in base trim, than Malibu. Another good choice.

Yup, it was sold here as a Merkur, but in higher line trims. This one appears to be a base model, with black bumpers and hubcaps and such. F.O.G. ...
  7. Latest issue of "Auto Exchange" (a local publication): '95 Grand Prix SE coupe $2599 '93 Cutlass convertible 3.4L, 38k miles $8900 '99 Grand AM GT coupe, 89k miles $5710 '92 Golf GL four door 5 speed with rims & tinted windows, clean $2150 '96 Jetta Trek 5 speed 114k miles $4495 '90 Civic H/B DX 5 speed, rims $3295 '88 Prelude $2495 '96 200SX 5 speed $3995 Lots of cheap used vehicles around this area. Manheim Auto Auction is very near me. It's one of the largest used vehicle auctions in the country.
  8. I agree with those that think a fixed-roof version, with an open, usable bed, a rear bumper with a step pad and a cloth interior, could have widened the appeal. I am not sad to see it go either, to be honest.
  9. Yup, a gray primer '81 Malibu coupe with a healthy 350, twin 3" pipes dumping just behind the rear tires, and a lowered stance, on Torquethrust wheels would be much cooler than these toylike tragedies.
  10. OK, I don't know about you boys, but I'm gonna fry me up some beef tongue and some haysh brown portaytas this mornin'. YUM! ew... or maybe not. :AH-HA_wink:
  11. I have a feeling it's not the car, it's the person posting it. And that's from both sides. I'm guilty of disregarding a post to focus on the poster as well, so I'm not innocent, just saying. Differences of opinion make a forum great, but building up prejudices against certain people is not productive, imo. We all have common ground somewhere, eh?

But... it's a Scorpio. RWD. Not a Sable. Was the photo taken in Europe?

    My Turn

Rotaries are known to be hard on gas and oil. The newest RX-8 hasn't changed things, from what I've read.
  14. My mom's '00 Echo went through 5 HVAC fan resistors (with no further investigation from the Toyota service department, seems awful coincidental) in the time she had it. The driver's window fell off the track. An emissions sensor went bad to the tune of $350 out of her pocket. When she got rid of it, it needed front suspension parts replaced, and it still had less than 40k miles. So far on the Cobalt with 3200 miles, the cloth on the door trim panels has come away from the cup you put your hand in to pull the door closed, due to normal flexing of the trim panel, and the cloth being cut too short in that area (I've seen this on every base model Cobalt in a customer's hands I've looked at). GM sent a TSB out to put cups in with a wider rim to cover the area... but that didn't work for my mom, hers were so far out... so she's getting new door trim panels. Also, the radio has gone into "lock" mode twice so far, for no reason. She has to pull over, shut off the car, and restart it for the radio to work. Colorado update: at two years old and 30k miles, I have a blown speaker and the volume button on the radio no longer is lit at night, so I'm taking it in for a radio exchange and a speaker replacement soon.
  15. Ewwwww.... that's disgusting!
  16. Yes, the little embryo ducklings, all brown and slimy, cooked inside the egg... first thing ya gotta do when you crack it open is drink the fluid, then slurp up the tiny duck! I'm surprised you haven't considered men's fashion magazines to be soft gay porn... for years and years.

The truck must have been made in August. They say Leos and Scorpios don't get along, here's proof.
  18. Croc, why are you so dense? All men's fashion magazines have been "gay" for years. GQ is certainly no exception. Perhaps you've chosen to overlook this fact while you look at all those pretty boys wearing the latest from Fifth Avenue. Now... back on topic if it's not too late thanks to you. Who here has tried boiled monkey brain, cooked, then served right in the head? I saw that in a movie once... *vomit*
  19. The ad is about pushing the envelope. It's outrageous, sure. And they're not "in each other's faces", either. You could have laughed it off ya know. Instead, you had to be a prude. And don't hijack my thread with your drivel! This is about "shock food". Those chittlins are nasssty!
  20. Yup, and little ducks... cooked INSIDE the egg.
  21. In the new GQ magazine (with Heath Ledger on the cover and the awesomest Dolce & Gabanna (sp?) ad ever) has a really sick article about weird foods from around the world. I almost choked when I saw the little skinned guinea pig packaged in cellophane. You guys gotta check it out!

This is a big event! I wish you all the best with this, sir. I can see it now... "Papa Satty's" will take over the midwest!

    My Turn

I like the white Datsun 240 the best.
  24. That's an interesting looking car. The color scheme is different. That little blue and white thingy at the end of the row in razor's post is kinda cool too.
  25. Well, Happy Birthday, Variance. Hope you have a good one, sir.
