  2. An Impala diesel would be divine for those that value longevity, economy and simplicity.
  3. Well, "Chivvalay Chevelle" still has a nice ring to it, imo... but even though there were countless thousands of 4-door Chevelles built and loved over the decades, my vision of a Chevelle is of my parents' Marina Blue '66 SS, or any 2-door of any model year it was produced.
  4. Hershey
  5. I actually like the blocky, wide stance of this thing. Its purpose in life is a mystery, however, and "Venza" is an uber gay name for a car.
  6. Drewbert, you were not the only guilty party, there were two posts in a row that misspelled it. Maybe I'm easily annoyed by spelung misteaks.
  7. I agree with those that say we would not have heard a word about this if it weren't for that one Volt fire. Politics have no place in the discussion.
  8. To be a sex machine at HIS age, well, that should be every man's dream.
  9. Torana only suggested a smaller RWD platform. Alpha did not exist back then, IIRC.
  10. While Datsun is an agreeable company, imo, the new Altima is too evolutionary when judged against the revolutionary sedans that debuted with it. Evolutionary may have worked since the first redesign of the breakthrough 2002 model, but that template is now at least 11 years old. Everybody else has gone all stark and FutureThink on us. They've blinded us with science, and my eyesight has been slow to recover, but I'm starting to see the light. Seeing the new Camry on the road, with it's squared-off, compact-looking body, it has grown on me. The new Fusion looks good, and this Avalon has planted a seed of approval in my brain that is beginning to sprout, which surprises me. I am ready to accept these new designs. The jar to the brain dealt by first sighting the 2014 Impala was the quickest to mellow into lurve, but the Avalon I now see as a cut-rate Audi A7, down to the shaver grille. There are worse cars to copy, imo.
  11. He sounds a bit like Bowie, imo... nice voice...
  12. Paulie, just as you fall asleep tonight, you'll hear a whisper... "VERAAAANNNOOOOO....." answer the call, Paulie...
  13. Hmmm... so in your opinion, people only trade when a new design comes out? Not necessarily true.
  14. Somebody's not happy with progress, if Dan's pay will be frozen.
  15. Well are we sure the next NASCAR Chevy will be a Zeta car? Or will it be Alpha? The article is not clear. I wish I could have seen the Code in person, I would have needed a drool bucket. I think it's in New York.
  16. Well, after the fabulous new Impala, I sincerely hope this new Zeta Chevy has its own style, and is not simply a grille job like the martyred G8. Pontiac deserved better, with its rich design history, and so does Chevrolet.
  17. Ridiculous. Alphanumerics are not memorable enough, especially the way Lincoln has them set up, with the last letter donating the difference. At least Cadillac's system differentiates with the FIRST letter, a bit easier to remember that way.
  18. Hmmm... good news it seems. I wonder if the new NASCAR Chevy will be the production version of the sweet Code 130R... (Chicane?) or something else? Will the new RWD sport sedan be Zeta or Alpha based? This is building some good anticipation...
  19. WHAT!? I'm SHOCKED!!! To me, this shows proof that hybrids and electrification are a fad that is not ready for prime time. It is NOT that people are too shy to try them... they've tried them and they DON'T LIKE THEM. It cannot be the affordability factor, because they've already shelled out the money once for one of these... they've just decided they're not gonna be fooled twice.
  20. I still think the XTS will become Cadillac's best seller. *shiver*
