  2. Well there's usually a slot for a screwdriver to fit in there and pry it out. Most of them have a little tether so they don't get lost. Care has to be taken when prying them out to avoid damage.
  3. Yup, there should be a tow hook in with the jack, it will be a rod, threaded at one end to screw into a threaded insert behind that square, with a loop at the other end for towing the car out of a ditch, etc.

  5. Mr. Bond, let us know if your martini is shaken or stirred while driving the Camaro SS. As ever, that is one heck of a good looking car. Can't wait to see photos of the tan interior.

  7. I'm always paranoid there's a camera on me, though. This Terrain, I believe, was left open on purpose. It was parked perpendicular to the rest of the vehicles in the row, and they've done this before a while back, I posted about it then.

  10. White is really a nice color. It is easy to clean, and the most durable of all paint colors because the sun bounces off of it instead of heating it up and allowing chemical etching from bird poop, tree sap, etc.
  11. My boss has had 2 Escape 4WDs as his demos this winter, first a black Hybrid, and now an XLT V6. The few times I've gotten to drive them, I've been impressed with the solid, quiet ride on dry pavement. I asked him how the 4WD did for him in the snow, and he said he was unimpressed, said neither one felt like it was really pulling much with the rear wheels, even in deep snow where it surely would have been necessary. He said it was not like a pickup truck, where you shift it into 4WD and you can feel it work. Kind of disappointed me to hear him say that. I wonder if GM's AWD Equinox/Terrain system is similar to the Escape's in operation and in low-traction conditions driving feel. If I get a 4WD/AWD vehicle, I do not want some wimpy poseur. I know Subaru's Symmetrical AWD is in gear all the time, and I've seen the new Outback in hillclimbing action in a YouTube vid, it did very well in comparison to an Explorer and a Venza. Traction in all driving conditions and a commanding driving position, plus versatility for occasional hauling are my reasons for wanting to get back into a truck/SUV. I know a GMT355 will fulfill those criteria, but I've never had an SUV/CUV before, and I might like to try one, but I need something with a 4WD system that is worth the effort. Anyone have any Escape/Mariner/Equinox/Terrain/Outback/Forester experience in snow? How do the systems compare mechanically?
  12. "My" old BG dealer has a Cyber Gray/Black Terrain SLE-1 AWD with no options ($26,745 MSRP) sitting open, outside. While I was there within a 10 minute period, 3 different people came in, looked, and sat in it. I did the same. What a cool little CUV it is. If I had another 2 grand saved, sigh...
  13. 55 degrees here today, people are feelin' like Spring. Saw a very nice aqua '65 Malibu convertible, a clean red 240SX convertible, and a rattly green VW Cabrio, all with tops down.

  17. I really need to clean up the Cobalt. I sprayed the lugnuts with WD-40 a while back to keep them from rusting from all this road salt (it worked), but now I hope it's time to get rid of the crappy residue and shine 'er up a bit.
