  1. I stopped by the local BMW dealer again today and a bit of drool ran down my chin as I took in the tiny, sexy, spunky 128.
  2. Croc was on the debate team, aatbloke, he doesn't come to a gunfight with a pocket knife. You're going to start feeling like "the only gay in the village" if you continue to bump heads here. An internet message board is a place where a person's age, or their "station" in life matter next to not if they deport themselves in a professional manner. Please continue to post here, but try not to peg us, you might find we're not so easy to stick in a box. OMG, Oingo Boingo? I'm going to pass out right now! :AH-HA_wink:
  3. ZL-1
  4. Friday evening after work, I stopped in at a new local diner to have supper. It had been a long time since lunch, and I was feeling pretty hungry. As I was waiting for my food, I caught myself staring at my server as she took care of her other tables. I realized my eyes were locked on her every move as the minutes ticked by, my table and my stomach empty. When she assured me "yours will be out soon!" with a little knowing smile, I became amused at myself and realized I probably had a half-crazed, desperate, "FEED ME!" look in my eyes, a look this waitress had probably felt dozens of times before.
  5. Not quite forever, just since 1956.
  6. Harley, your 12:40 picture reminds me of Canada. Cool, and your 12:43 of the Olds 98 shows how small cars were before everything exploded later in the decade of the 50's.
  7. angelic
  8. Yeah, I was digging on the Vanishing Point livery, Stone White with those retro rims... then I saw it on the rollback, blah... hopefully it doesn't have too much damage, like a kinked frame rail.
  9. I really hope this thing isn't intended to replace the sweet little HHR. It's about as characterful as a paper bag. It seems a clone of the Mazda 5, and we all know how that turned out. Does GM think the Chevy brand has the muscle to make this concept work?
  10. Yeah I really liked the one I drove, except for the interior color, I didn't care for the black and red. The all-black would be better. It seems that since the first round of deliveries to local dealers, though, they've disappeared from the lots, with no replacements. Seems odd.
  11. Captain Peacock, are you free?
  12. moltar, what? Cadillac's most powerful production car ever is powered by that engine. When it came to horsepower, the Northstar was put on the bench. And I'm willing to bet the Smallblock will get better fuel mileage in any application than the Northstar.
  13. Shoot, I wasn't even thinking of BMW's V8 in this transaction. Why would I, when GM has the best V8 engine in the world, the Chevrolet Smallblock?
  14. I guess it's that dry, no, parched British sense of humour at play here with aatbloke. If my Sheridan were here, he'd be appalled. And yes, I realised before my first comment in this thread that Opel alone will not be trying to sell all those new models. GME is a development centre for certain platforms, just as Asia-Pacific and NA and Brasil are, I reckon. I was merely having an attempt at nose tweaking, as it were.
  15. Ah, Pontiac...
  16. Rebadged European Honda Accord, at the Acura dealership. Does anyone know why it would have been there? :AH-HA_wink:
  17. Wrangler
  18. Talk about beating a dead horse... the W-platform was DOA! And look how long we have suffered with it, and continue to suffer. Witness GM's market share figures over the past 20 years, if you want to see the effect this proliferation of mediocrity has produced.
  19. Papa Smurf
  20. This is a great thread. Please keep them coming.
  21. Didn't BMW and GM already cooperate on hybrid tech? With BMW (thankfully) remaining committed to RWD, and a staunch champion of the inline-6 engine, which GM division would receive the BMW engine? It would have to be Cadillac, because GM has totally pussied out on RWD, by and large, everywhere else (meaning Pontiac, I presume).
  22. Moltar, I would drive a small, efficient car... but I need one that will hold my interest... like a RWD, 4 seater, turbo Ecotec, manual transmission Pontiac coupe.
  23. 1979 Malibu coupe, in a color close to the famous Marina Blue, with white Yenko graphics, fat Rally wheels, and a healthy-sounding smallblock. And a maroon Smart Cabrio. Dude looked petrified driving it, I think there was like a Silverado behind him. A comical, yet compelling sight. "Here is what I saw on the street not to long ago." - Hey Borger, did you tell those guys to unload some of that stuff so your hooves could touch the ground? :AH-HA_wink:
  24. Magnavox
