  1. Have a good one, Mr. Lamar. I hope a Birthday Thread will suffice, as I didn't get a chance to buy that Pontiac you wanted.
  2. OK thanks.
  3. My mom had a '72 Malibu coupe, 307/auto, brown with black vinyl buckets and console. The '72 Chevelle is one of the best ever, with a truly harmonious design, and a cleaner front end than the '71. She dated a guy with a '72 Monte Carlo, in Burnt Orange, with black top/black bucket seat interior. Both cars just seemed so effortlessly good looking, and GM was on top of the world then.

  5. Not quite, imo. Think of that '73 with smaller, better-integrated bumpers. Instantly it improves, considerably. The park benches were a last-minute addition to designs that were not made for them. Witness the '74 and up cars, with smaller, much more manageable bumpers. Borger, that is good news from Mr. Welburn. I hope that includes future Pontiacs.

  7. Well duh, he was in a booth in the back with his honey du jour. A direct quote: "I LOVE EWE!" as the sheep rolled its eyes.
  8. White/silver Smart with a ground effects kit, twin exhaust stacks, Yosemite Sam mudflaps, curb feelers, Boss Hog Longhorns, a soccer ball antenna topper, tack-on portholes, and louvered, chrome fender skirts. j/k
  9. Good luck, Scooter!
  10. That's from all those sheep running around in there, trying to escape certain patrons' amourous advances. However, that photo of the sandwich looks delicious... and I too love hot food. I eat the wasabi with my fork, not bothering to mix it into my soy sauce, and I love Chinese mustard.
  11. We would take all the trim off the outside of the doors. The moldings, the nameplate, the mirror, the door glass run channel, etc., to prevent tape lines that could cause a peelback of the paint. And they'd need sanded properly to smooth all those nicks and scratches out. It would be at least a few hundred bucks, more likely more. That's why I'm pushing the cleanup and touchup, unless you've got that kind of money to blow. I understand you want your car to look its best.
  12. Mr. Shift, pics please. Of The Rabbit.
  13. When Collectible Automobile magazine showcased these cars, there were pictures included in the article of the cars as they were supposed to look in 1972, their original planned release date. A strike by the everloving UAW prevented them from coming out until the '73 model year, hence the small changes to the A-body lineup from '71-'72, as the released '72s were not supposed to exist per the original plan.
  14. Well I hope you were wearing your high rubber boots.
  15. I would say polish those areas as much as you can, maybe with rubbing compound, and see how they look. Hold them up to your car and see if the color matches (there are "variances" on factory paint colors, even with the same color number). Right now, it looks like a pretty large area to touch up, but it might not be too bad after you clean them up. If someone fully paints the doors, you run the risk of having a mismatch, especially with metallic colors.
  16. vonVee, you can't. Your G5 has a 4-lug hub, those are for a 5-lug.

    Waxin'

SS623, if you want to keep the "flat" in your flat black, you cannot wax it. Wax will half-assedly shine it up and it will look horrible and splotchy.
  19. Oh man, vonVee, I hope you can get it. The Delta cars are much nicer than the J-bodies. It will serve you well for years, no doubt. Keep us posted on the outcome.
  20. Flowmaster mufflers would complete that picture nicely. That is a badass Cadillac, Mr. Cruiser.
  21. The engine needs to breathe. We told you months ago it prolly has a clogged catalytic converter. The engine found a weak spot in the exhaust ahead of the converter and blew it out. It will prolly run better now.
  22. I bought the new Gnarls Barkley and Portishead CDs this afternoon.
  23. That's a pretty car, hopefully it's 301/305/307-powered. Reminds me of my '81, except mine was silver/black landau/red vinyl buckets. Good luck with your inquiry.
  24. About 3/4 of a tank, why do you ask?
