  1. Big difference is that Toyota owners don't ADMIT that their vehicles break, or that they get hosed at any given parts counter. Some sort of Bushido code?
  2. I recall that. Can't remember who it was, so thanks for the heads up. I would LOVE to see GM, Ford and Chrysler pull out of NASCAR to concentrate on SCCA and other series; leave NASCAR to Toyota, and I understand soon Nissan.
  3. If you start the computer, then press and hold the F8 key during the boot sequence, you'll get a menu that will allow you to go to a command prompt. Are you familiar with DOS internal and external commands by chance?

    Holy crap that was funny.

    JAPAN

Most people are happy to carry on being totally oblivious to the Trade War now going on, but if a gaijin says anything about protecting the North American economy, they're instantly labelled a racist and ridiculed. It's much more convenient for them to ignore the actions of foreign governments and corporations when they want a Sony Walkman, a Nissan Sentra, or a JVC TV. That way they don't feel any guilt about who they are actually putting out of work. Most North Americans will do or say anything to justify their tacit support of the Japanese Economic War Machine. It seems that younger people are the ones most easily swayed into the Eastern Camp; they have no memory of how the Japanese have manipulated the North American Auto Industry, and other industries. I do.
  6. Don't think so. At least we in Canada sure aren't. The problem is that it's so politically incorrect to even suggest building Hydro, (especially after the Glen Canyon debates) that nobody has the guts to just build one. A shame, because it's completely renewable, and carbon free.
  7. A Solstice GXP. At least 5 Solstices today, but just one GXP.
  8. The "Asian-American" reference is just more proof that Toyota's drive to be seen as more American than apple pie is working beautifully. Mind you the press writes what they THINK the public wants to read, so the writer's choice of words actually makes sense in the context of this article. Are they Asian? Of course. Are they American? Of course not. But to the woman with 2 kids who just bought a Corolla because her friends told her to, it's nice to know in her own mind that she bought a car from a nice American car company like Toyota. So she thinks. Toyota is very good at these little mind games, and almost always have been.
  9. Toyota seriously expected 42.5% of current domestic truck owners to race into a showroom and sign on the dotted line? This just proved to me that Toyota will not be taking the #1 automaker crown from GM this year. No way that management could make that much of a supposition and be proven correct. Not a chance. Somebody had some seriously skewed market research done it looks like.
  10. To a Toyota Forum??? :AH-HA_wink:
