  1. There just isn't anything brand new that floats my boat enough to sign on the dotted line. The Challenger comes closest. There are a few others I'd buy used, but that's about it right now.
  2. Oh, I can see myself springing for a new truck at some point. But cars are another story.
  3. ...if I'll ever want to buy a new car again. It isn't looking too likely.
  4. Nope. In fact, I've almost forgotten what the Lacrosse looks like already. Like most stuff these days, I just take a quick look and dismiss it from mind. It's a bit depressing, but that's the way it goes. When a Malibu and this VW are among the few I can even keep in mind as decent designs, things are pretty bleak. For me, looking for new cars I like is like trying to find water in a desert.
  5. Been there, done that. It's a side effect of boring design.
  6. You all know that this sort of car is never going to be my thing, but as far as FWD sedans go this is one of exactly two that have nice proportions. This, and the Malibu, are the only ones that don't hurt my eyes when I look at them.
  7. Car shows today are soooo boring when compared to the early 2000s. Such a bummer.
  8. Slim pickings indeed.
  9. That is odd, I found the Taurus to be downright unpleasant to drive. I honestly thought it would be much, much, better. It's the sort of car I'd rather be a passenger in than a driver - and that's rare.
  10. Was the GMC All-Terrain the only true "concept" from GM at the show this year?
  11. Not in Australia, it isn't. Then there is the export market- essential to Holden and composed entirely of Commodore/Caprice variants...
  12. That's great to hear, Drew. I have a notion about that too, check my old posts in the Mod forum.
  13. Did you really think that I'd ignore that bit of info? I can relate to the plowing state of mind, but make sure you take that peek through the window!
  14. Make sure to give yourself a little time to stare at the B-59 today - maybe even wipe off some of the dust! Hope you have a great day.
  15. Pretty much. I think Ford is making a huge mistake if they think a Taurus-based car can replace the Falcon. My recent experiences drivng a Taurus don't auger well for the rate of acceptance by fans of the RWD Falcon. The Taurus is a car I really dislike driving. In fact, I couldn't wait to get out from behind the wheel. Fans of RWD are likely to have a similar reaction. If Holden is smart, they will wait to reap the benefits should Ford go through with their FWD Falcon plans.
  16. Enjoy the hunt!
  17. News year's eve marked nine years for me.
  18. Thanks for this, NOS. Can't wait to see the pics.
  19. Not so fast! "I'll do the thinin' around here" I still expect some more entries here. Thanks for yours, Z. It is certainly a contender. I am still hoping to see another approach that occurred to me. Let's see if anyone else might be thinking along those lines. And no, I'm not giving out any hints.
  20. Commodore is the best selling car in Australia, and has been for 15 years. Only a fool messes with that.
  21. I'm glad that you had such a great experience, BV! And that was a nice little write-up.
  22. That's great news! The Gladiator is a no-brainer.
  23. I sure hope that you can find the time, I've always liked your work.
