  1. My pleasure.
  2. The FG is bonded to the birdcage. On coupes yes, there is a "targa bar" that loops overfrom side-to-side. The frames for the T-tops are part of the birdcage as well. On the pics of my car, you can also see the steel panel that runs across the back of the birdcage from side-to-side (it is absent in the pic Balthazar posted).
  3. No FG in between - it goes over the top of the birdcage. The big problems are around the winsheild frame and down the pillars/door jambs. Everything lower than the windsheild is covered/surrounded by FG (except on the interior). The entire front clip and firewall have to be removed to get at much of that area.
  4. Thanks for posting that! I guess you can now see tha areas that I am concerned about pretty clearly.
  5. The halos didn't surprise me, but the RWD dominance did. You know it's fine with me, but I expected more folks not to go that way. I thought that the G8ST would finish mid-pack, rather than tied for first place. And, I had doubts that the Hummer HX would even make the top ten. So yeah, I'm surprised. This bit doesn't surprise me, I see Holden as the most creative arm of GM.
  6. All it really needed where a few more votes, or perhaps a restriction on how many could be voted for. The field of nominations was huge, so the last thing I expected to see were so many ties. The finishing positions of many of the nominations did surprise me.
  7. Sweet!
  8. The votes fell where they fell. It was supposed to be a top ten list initially - that would have been even more crowded. The results actually surprised me.
  9. I really wish that site would work for me.
  10. Wow! My LS1 Firehawk did better than that on the highway.
  11. Just in case anyone was confused, there was a new end date for this contest as well as image size rules posted accidentally when image search info. was added to the first post. It has now been deleted, and never applied to this contest. The deadline remains midnight on January 20th, 2011.
  12. I expect that some will reappear, if only in spirit.
  13. Worth the wait, a fine article.
  14. For what it's worth, I've come to the conclusion that the Cruze is the better-looking of these two cars. The newest pics of the Cruze in the gallery here convinced me - it is a cleaner design.
  15. I'm glad that you tackled this topic - it is extremely important. It is the sort of thing that we should talk about all the time rather than just when it generates a headline. Keeping this in the forefront of our thinking generates a mindset of innovation. That mindset is precisely what we need as opposed to the current, non-productive thinking that revolves around sacrifice and hopeless conservation. That is the mindset of decline, and needs to be rejected outright. Don't regulate, innovate.
  16. A sweet G8 GT in Pacific Slate - out for a drive in the snow. It was wearing Maryland plates, so it could have been a long drive in the snow.
  17. A big echo of the above posts to you, bobo! This stuff is heart and soul around here. Congratulations and thanks.
  18. I'd say that's part of the same question, pow. Agree?
  19. Makes you wonder what happens when Alpha shows up, doesn't it?
  20. Thanks for the quick answer!
  21. This begs the question: Who's losing share in the segment?
  22. The real question for this car is is it competitive? All of the factors dismissed above have bearing on that question.
