  1. The one I saw was black, and from the back it was just... well... not good.
  2. Actually it wasn't at the time. It's a Motorola ic502. One of my requirements for a phone was that it not be fragile, given my activities on a daily basis. It was a Nextel phone, so now I have sprint by default.
  3. The battery is still ok, but the phone itself is getting tired. And I have some gripes with it.
  4. I guess I'm going to have to plan on getting a new one before this one dies. Sifting through all the options is going to be a drag.
  5. I've had a cell phone since the days of brick phones and bag phones. Over that time, reliability and call clarity have plummeted as features have exploded. I just want my phone to be a phone - and a good one at that. It is massively cheaper now though, that change is welcome.
  6. When I got this one, nothing more basic was available.
  7. I don't text - ever.
  8. Wouldn't want the camera anyway... I'll keep it in mind. But I'd have to dump Sprint (no great loss).
  9. One of my uncles had a '70 wagon just like that one used to be. Even the same color. I never saw the possibilities before. hmmm, ...and the Caprice backlight would fit like a glove.
  10. Wow! A very cool project gone horribly wrong? I would have never guessed how well that bodystyle would lend itself to caminoization. That thing could be sweet!
  11. Can you still buy a dead simple phone without all the features? But with improved clarity/reception? Seriously, I'd like to find such a phone.
  12. Windows, now there's something reliable. Sort of like having to shut your car down in traffic.
  13. It is a recent battery, but has never held a charge as long as the original did, My gripe is the fact that the phone no longer gives me a warning of any useful length. It used to beep at intervals a few minutes ahead of battery failure, now it is near-immediate.
  14. DF, yes, the new tech is amazing. But. I often fails in ways we would never accept in other consumer goods. Just a side-effect of greed and the rapid pace of change. We are very lucky most things are more reliable than tech devices. If the tech explosion ever reaches a lasting pause, we might begin to see better reliability.
  15. hahahahahahahahahahaha.....
  16. I think I need to do it at least once.
  17. Sort of like computers... Seems we have learned to accept failing devices as the norm.
  18. The first time I saw an ad for the Juke, I thought it was a spoof... Goofy looking little thing.
  19. Never been my thing either, but I'm warming to the idea. Then again, a Chevelle convertible almost became my first car. 50 some cars later, I think I'm due.
  20. That's another fine way to spend a sunday, Balthy. I love live music. Anyway, the show starts at 10:00 AM. I hope to find some goodies at the flea market.
  21. I guess I could try that. But then again, if the guy really wants the truck, he'll call back.
  22. @$^#@&^*^%#! My stupid cell phone battery dies in the middle of a conversation with a guy interested in the Mothertruck! The phone used to give me a few warnings before the battery died, now it beeps just about one second before going dead. And, It didn't save the number! GRRRRRRR!
  23. It's the grand finale car show for the HCCP (Historic Car Club of Pennsylvania). It will be held on the grounds of Delaware County Community College in Media, PA. Unless it gives me trouble, I'll be driving the '38 Dodge to this event. It would be great to see some C&G folks there.
  24. This is what worries me. Coupes need to be good-looking, and this one just isn't.
  25. Actually, I've never even seen an Advance Auto store around here. I priced the part at NAPA, but actually got a better deal from GM. I get a pretty good discount, so I saved about $40 going with genuine GM.
