  1. It was an expensive switch, but it did the trick. My windows work again.
  2. I predict rear visibility issues...
  3. Have a great one, man!
  4. Exactly. Yuck! EDIT: It's as if the lack of practice caused them to forget how to design a coupe.
  5. I drove the E-type again on tuesday - I'm starting to get the convertible message.
  6. ...when I was out getting my breakfast. Man! Is it ever unattractive from the rear!
  7. Withya! Got patina?
  8. Different, that's for sure.
  9. Thanks, I'll keep you guys posted.
  10. I guess I'd be a fan of using the same wood in any adjoining rooms. Makes things look more open and larger. But if there is a carpet interupt, I don't think it's a big deal to use 2 or more types of wood.
  11. He's right of course, but I'm fine with Toyota and Honda slipping toward the back of the pack.
  12. Stuff seems to ne working - knock wood. I ordered a new power window master switch today, hopefully that problem will be gone tomorrow. Then it will be back to the HVAC issues.
  13. That thought had crossed my mind. The old cap didn't quite fit the new radiator, so I installed a new one - that's when the cloud started. I'm going to try the Bars-leak, and hope I can put-off any further repair until after the winter. Wish me luck.
  14. I may try Bars-leak as a temporary fix... Ripping apart the engine just doesn't fit my gameplan at the moment.
  15. The "paint the Volt as a failure in spite of facts to the contrary" crowd really needs to finally raise the white flag of defeat and crawl back underneath the rocks they came from. Listening to the ever-changing blather of those ninnies as they search tirelessly for some perceived weakness in the Volt they might exploit has been more than tiresome. "It's vapoware!" " GM will never make it happen!" " It won't hit production by the end of 2010!" "It's really a hybrid!" Blah, blah, balh... It's all bunk. Just accept it folks, GM has raised the bar and advanced production automotive tech. It's time to congratulate them, not tear them down for it.
  16. Yes, in a massive cloud.
  17. Good news on this front today (unlike the Tahoe front), he just missed the VIN tag when he first looked, it is exactly where it is supposed to be.
  18. ...and now the other shoe drops! The Tahoe is now sucking coolant bigtime. It's either leaking through the manifold (bad), or it blew a head gasket (worse).
  19. Funny, I was thinking that with a few tweaks, it would make a nice Firebird.
  20. Been seeing lots of fun cars out for cruises as the season comes to an end here in PA. E-Type Jag (not the one I worked on). Perfect '67 Chevelle hardtop with black top and deep maroon in color sporting original dog dish hubcaps on color-matched wheels. Watched a Lotus Elise chasing a Maserati Quatroportte around. Austin-Healey 3000 Lots more. And, I saw a new Regal - seeing it "in the steel" didn't improve my opinion of it.
  21. I've considered the Airstream idea many times. That said, the notion of those two dogs in any RV frankly scares me! I'll post any news.
  22. No such luck, as far as I know. But that rendering wasn't part of the Hot Rod spoof. I have no idea where it came from... but I really like it.
  23. Me too! And, that one isn't part of the April Fools stunt.
  24. Make sure that you scroll down to see all three! http://www.retroland.com/retrotalk/viewtopic.php?p=233763#233763
