  1. Yeah, long day with nothing to show for it. Oh well.
  2. Dually = FAIL The 70k miles was more like 170K.
  3. I think he was talking about my ROPOS, Z. But yeah, to the rest of your post. Good thing I'm tired (lots of driving today), I'll need to get some sleep for tomorrow's adventure. Can't wait!
  4. Sure is a looker! And the story is a great vindication of car design that engenders an emotional response! Congrats to your Mom, and to Chevrolet.
  5. Sounds interesting.
  6. Don't even intend to bother... To busy dreaming about having a 454 again!
  7. PA is nothing compared to say, Ohio. or New York. or New England. or even Jersey (especially near the shore).
  8. One way or the other, the dually story will come to an end tomorrow. As for the ROPOS, it takes a good pic - but it is rougher than it looks.
  9. In this case, I see it as an issue of "critical mass" - the truck is marginal on too many fronts for me to attack them all. That would lead to a full resto, and I don't need any more of those at the moment. I may be judging it a bit harshly, but my intentions for it are simple - it just needs to be able to get the snow off of the driveway. If inspection doesn't cost too much, I'll do it once. After that, I really don't care. New territory for me regarding a vehicle I own.
  10. You two are playing my tune here (except the part about too much work). And 66, the BS you went through is precisely what's so very wrong with this country. Idiots in positions of authority attempting to justify their salaries, tick me off! We need to simplify, now! Stupidity like that makes me near-violent.
  11. I've just developed an allergy to rust repairs over the years...
  12. Yes and no. It would take a MAJOR investment to get rid of the rust (one fender, two bedsides, cab corners, hood, and repair to the doors). Not to mention that the entire undercarriage has heavy surface rust - it just isn't worth it to me. This truck will remain a beater as long as I have it. By all means, it could be brought back - I just don't want to be the one to do it.
  13. No comment at this time.
  14. The rust is terminal, but I give it a few years to live provided that the drivetrain hangs in there. This will be a minimal investment piece - it will get just what it needs to keep going and nothing more. I go to see the dually in the morning.
  15. Got one pic before the batteries died, and no, it isn't as good as it looks. By CaminoLS6
  16. I was in Wheeling, WV right where all three states meet, and the string of rotted hulks crossing from the Ohio side just floored me. These things had no fenders left! In PA, you'd get cuffed and stuffed for that.
  17. That's true. But the truck has no inspection sticker at all.
  18. PA used to make you do it every 6 months! This state has always been strict about such things. The first time I saw the rolling junkyards that some cars in Ohio were, I was stunned!
  19. I'm giving you fair warning: When you see the pics you will suffer extreme Healey-lust.
  20. That's a great story! I'm not going to sweat the inspection thing. If the truck can't be made to pass at a reasonable cost, I'll just take it off the road and use it on the property. I have no desire to daily drive this thing.
  21. Looks like it might be a bit less chunky - good.
  22. I may get a shot at the dually on Sunday.
  23. Pics will have to wait - camera batteries died.
  24. Here's the listing with a few pics (looks better than it is ). http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1504445062.html
  25. Rusty, old, piece of $h!.
