  1. Well, the camper is a factory option...
  2. Interesting.
  3. I have no plans to buy it, but it's one rare beastie.
  4. I think Ocn needs a cold shower... But yeah, that is one fine GP.
  5. Sounds like it is just a matter of time to me...
  6. It's certainly worth a closer look.

Maybe the best idea would be to post some examples of how the references present the data and then choose a standard. It would also be helpful to determine how to create sub-categories. The reference I am talking about keys off of the engine RPO code and block stamping code. This is fictional, but it would look something like this: CXT 454 cu. in. V8 A-body 4-speed close ratio man. trans. 450HP xxxtorque That info would be presented in a graph with a notation following that would read something like: Chevelle 454 RPO LS6 SS coupe and sedan pickup. In some years there are many versions of each engine depending on transmission, induction, head casting materials, and so on - each with different HP and torque specs, engine stampings and RPO codes.
  8. Made a little.
  9. I understand some of the sentiment, and agree about the loss of manufacturing, but otherwise... What the hell are they talking about? Not what I'd call a clear vision or a plan. Still, as Z says, it's telling.

I can at least help with the codes and specs for '64-'72 Chevy V8s (if I can find my reference book that keeps disappearing. It should cover A-body and a bit more for those years. I have others too. This is a HUGE undertaking, and the format will be important.
  11. If I had the cash, I might have lots of driveway to shovel this winter. Probably better that I don't have enough to buy one.
  12. I was thinking the same thing...

Engine codes could cover some ground, they will give you a ton of other information - including application.

My first thought is that this will be nearly impossible - there were so many permutations of each engine. But hey, so what if it's an ongoing project.
  15. Stomach churning.
  16. Boo! Send him all the bad news about Toyota instead of taking him off your e-mail list.
  17. If it had a "rat", I'd be in tears right now.
  18. Haha, never got to that. Sold with mouse intact.
  19. Just completed the transaction. But, it will be hanging around for a day or three before he comes back to get it.

  21. By CaminoLS6 Many of these cars were also two-tone, and had T-tops.
  22. MDM's last effort looks great, but not period correct. DF's looks very good, but I expect that this car would have drawn more front-end design from the '73-'77 Grand Prix. This car would have been the "personal luxury" flagship for Pontiac - a spot that actually went to the Grand Prix. Other than that, I think DF's chop is spot-on. It looks very period-Pontiac from the front fenders on back.
  23. There is a pretty thin list of 50's stuff that I really love - though I respect many of the cars from the decade. Earlier stuff than that can wow me with detail and design, but I don't really want to own them. Cars that form my main obsession come from the 60s and early 70s. After that it is more of a case-by-case sort of thing with the selection diminishing over the years. I think that is why I am so passionate about both the classic iron I love and any new car that fits my template. I'll never be satisfied with an average car.
  24. It's one of those ad campaigns that could have been good, but isn't.
  25. CR is fundamentally flawed to the degree that it has no genuine credibility. They make a mockery of independent evaluation by using the very criteria they do. No, they are not even a worthy substitute for TP.
