  1. About time! I'm really, really, glad this is happening - way overdue.
  2. Same here. Whether or not my kind of car, recent intros by both GM and Ford have been most impressive. And they need to be.
  3. Since the plant has been closed and sold-off, it is a moot issue now. But yes, it does leave an obvious hole in GM's portfolio.

  5. I believe that's the issue I was thinking of.
  6. Carbiz, I have always put my money where my mouth is - and to date have only purchased new GM vehicles. So, with no disrespect to you, your argument doesn't wash. Will I ever buy a vehicle in this segment? No, under no cicumstances, no matter the cost of fuel. But that doesn't make the Spark any more good-looking, nor does it make it competitive. We've already seen pictures posted in this thread of far more palatable and accessible designs within the segment. And as far as enthusiasts go, they'll never buy a car like this in the first place so they are no factor whatsoever. I am concerned though, that GM would risk putting a potential laughingstock like the Spark on the market. They can Ill-afford having any new entry in any segment becoming the butt of jokes. I really hope that GM reconsiders their plans to offer this car in our market as I believe it will damage their improving reputation. They need to go back into the design studio and try again.
  7. Spot on, Ocn!
  8. That's how I see it, except that I'm sure this isn't the car that they need in the segment.
  9. Disagree. This thing is universally ugly like the aztek. It will fail. Place your bets.
  10. I remember one built with a rear transaxle too... Alternative: Hunt for a well-preserved Fiero GT.
  11. All of which is moot for a car that is simply too damn ugly to sell. Trust me, this thing will flop.
  12. I've never heard of a fiberglass body for the old ones, would be cool though.
  13. It's the suggestion that enthusiasts are responsible that's absurd. The industry barely even acknowleges us anymore.
  14. Too true. Scouts came factory-equipped with rust.
  15. What makes you think a welder was involved? I'm betting on cardboard and bondo.
  16. Another vote for the first gen Cougar.
  17. Absolute fail. So, so, ugly. It doesn't really matter what other attributes it has or doesn't have, the thing will repel buyers like pepper spray.
  18. 'Bout time someone actually came right out and said it. We've known the truth of this for a very long time now.
  19. Enthusiasts killing the business? C'mon, that's just absurd.
  20. G8 buyers certainly do! Laughable. Or it would be, were it not so sad and pathetic.
  21. Pure badass through the slalom and drifting around the turns! I must have one of these.
  22. If that thing were local, I might jump on it just out of principle. I love Scouts.
  23. No secret, I want to keep the wagon. At least 'til it's finished. But I should have said something.
  24. Can't say I'm sure...
