Agreed. If it weren't for vintage, I'd have no outlet for the frustrations i have with current offerings. But shouldn't I have something that fits the bill in the sea of new cars? So many nameplates, yet so little variation. The realities of a generic present, I guess.

Personally I don't see anything to miss at Buick, but losing the Chinese market would be plain stupid. Buick needs to stay, at least in China.

True. I guess that's part of the problem, performance has become an exclusive for the higher end of the market. Annoying.

The turbo lag in an '85 300TD I had to drive nearly got me killed at intersections. Step on the pedal......wait......lunge! Terrible car! The seats may as well have been cinder blocks they were so hard.

I hope it's at least a turbo (they're bad enough with all of that lag), Benz NA diesels are flat out painful to drive.

Which is why I bitch about sedans so much. I would be much easier to do something interesting if done as a variant of a higher volume sedan. Variety at a reasonable price for both manufacturer and buyer.
