  1. Not all. All the more reason to have Oshawa ready.
  2. Side by side with our current Impala, my eyes just don't see that at all.
  3. It isn't the cost of investment with this car that's an issue, because this car can't come here period. A mainstream Chevy sedan would be well beyond Holden's capacity to buld in volume. BUT, 1) More G8 variants sure would make sense right now 2) When Holden updates to the Camaro version of Zeta, cars like this could be built in NA or OZ according to the volume requirements. I can see not investing too much in any new zeta-based, NA-built, cars right this minute - but development should continue while this difficult period lasts so GM doesn't miss the boat again. Oh, and I agree about the grille.
  4. Amen to that! I can't wait for that styling trend to die!
  5. The Caprice is longer, heavier, less powerful, and styled very differently than the G8.
  6. You know better than that!
  7. It's hard to live in a country populated by idiot sheep.
  8. Might make a good lawn tractor - it already has a grass-catcher attachment.
  9. Correct, this is the LWB version of Zeta. Should already be coming down the line in Oshawa, but GM flubbed that one. Right now the car can't come here from Holden - they don't have the production capacity.
  10. A case of terminal dumbass.
  11. That rather misses the point that I'm making.
  12. Why shouldn't we expect them to do just the opposite? They have a habit these days of not keeping to the plan. In any case, just because GM plans to do something, certainly doesn't mean it's the smart thing to do.
  13. Plenty of those here, not to mention BMW,M-B, Audi.... No, it's time for GM to actually use what they have more creatively while the develop the future products they need. This has been a glaring error in the way they do things for far too long. Everyone is tired of hearing about what they will have "soon" so using what is already available properly, is a "must do". They need to take a Solstice/94-96 Impala SS approach and actually deliver some of the awesome potential already at their disposal. It's a cheap, effective, way to get back on their game while they get future models ready. Not to mention helping ROI for exiisting architectures and increasing economy of scale. It's a no-brainer. And I don't just mean for Zeta. Should be policy across the entire corporate lineup right now.
  14. Hope it's a good one, my friend.
  15. GM needs to learn multi-tasking. Zeta was late to begin with and then bungled. All of the "yes we will/no we won't" crap created lost opportunity. Even now, it makes sense to utilize Zeta as much as possible while a downsized version is readied. The investment required to bring us other Zeta variants is mere pittance at this point, and yet offers decent return. Seems like just the thing a cash-strapped GM could use right now. As someone else said, Zeta variants are the automotive equivalent of "shovel-ready" projects. Time to offer them, I say.
  16. Amazing to see such clarity appear in a thread I had written-off as a lost cause a few pages back. Nicely done.
  17. Actually, it was : Left, while not getting airborne backwards...
  18. You mean after wasting the development money on Zeta by not utilizing the architecture? I'm sorry, but that will never make sense.
  19. And, as a low-volume brand it may escape some regulatory traps that GM can't. Works for me. GMNA can kiss my backside, I want this vehicle and I'll buy it from whoever has the qumption to get it here.
  20. I remember, Z. Not out of reach at all.
  21. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me too much if an outside company can do it more cost-effectively than GM.
  22. Well, if Holden builds it, at least it won't be so ugly!
  23. What? I said that I'm skeptical. I would pay considerably more for the right package if I could manage it. After all, it might be my last chance at a new car worth owning.
  24. @ Ocn's post.
