  1. Just plain wrong. That thread just points out how wrong some cars were for the Arrowhead - many would have been right at home at Buick though.
  2. No way, Buick performance cars were always an anomaly in the lineup. Alpha will fail at Buick. Not two deep, BTW, but three deep with variants. G8 w/variants G6 on Alpha w/ variants Soltice w/ variants As a niche brand that lineup is perfect. For volume another approach would be needed.
  3. No downside there. With that part of things I have no argument. Those are not Pontiacs. But you have to add Alpha to make it work.
  4. I came very close to buying a '70 Chevelle convertible as my first car. $400.00 and it could have been mine.
  5. More importantly, it tosses the whole concept of BPG before it had a chance to actually prove itself. Together, the three brands make a compelling case. As only two, or one, not so much. BPG is a good concept which leaves GM with three sales channels (essentially three brands). Small, medium, and large, or good, better, best - take your pick. Giving up that structure would be a mistake. Just like not implementing/promoting it is today.
  6. Don't forget: G8 = unique in NA G6 = First to market, so it isn't the rebadge Solstice = see above Vibe = unique among GM brands Buick right now is just two sedans that can't decide if they are supposed to steal sales from Chevy or Caddy, and a crossover that's shared six ways from Sunday. I could see an interim step after Buick becomes China-only of pairing GMC with Caddy until some genius decides they can save some pennies by eliminating GMC and finally pairing Caddy with Chevy. If Pontiac goes, you will see something like this happen.
  7. Think what you like, but Buick is the most redundant brand at GM right now, unless you look at GMC. It will take about five minutes after Pontiac's funeral for the calls to kill the rest of the channel to surface. Mark my words on this, if Pontiac dies, Buick and GMC will soon follow.
  8. Very true.
  9. If only there were another bodystyle (variant), I'd be there.
  10. Sure are, just don't ever get littermates and they'll be mellow too.
  11. Alaskan Malamutes.
  12. How long are people going to wait before admitting that this is a good thing?
  13. Yes, its the shapeless blob syndrome. Amen to the commitment comment!
  14. The crate has been "locked" with heavy C-clamps and chains for at least a year and a half. Arkus somehow managed to stuff his bulk through the too small openings in the bottom! He is Houdini. Nothing can contain him forever, it seems.

  16. I can agree with a huge portion of this. I have to tell you though, I want no parts of a Lambda-based El Camino, nor an AWD SS.
  17. Found this: Camino LS6 Member Since: 01/01/2002 I think it is 1 day off as I remember posting on 12/31/01 Couldn't find my original member # though.
  18. I think some time in a BMW showroom will be called for.
  19. It won't begin with food though, you can see the genesis of intrusive world government in the current financial crisis. Multi-state rules governing finance are the first glimmer of this, and I want no part of it. Agreement between states as autonomous equals is fine, but a global authority governing internal dealings is anathema to me.
  20. Very cool. Check this out: Camino LS6 GM Super Fan USA 100 Posts Posted - 01/02/2002 : 12:48:02 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GM would do well to put a Holden under quite a few domestic nameplates. I would be forever gtateful if they would bring the HRT Holden Maloo here and call it El Camino SS. I know it's not likely to happen while the SSR is around but I can hope can't I? I can just hear that LS6 now as I make full use of the 6 forward gears..... Camino LS6
  21. Not good news, Roger. I'm sorry to hear it, but rest assured that you have lots of company. Cruddy times we live in.
  22. You are exactly right, Ocn, I do believe just that. I have taken temporary measures to keep them apart, but Arkus always seems to eventually up the ante, and I just can't allow that to happen. I can't in good conscience let this continue. To Longtooth: I felt the same way about cages until the first time I cage-trained a dog. Admittedly, this case is a bit different since we are well past the training period. However, Arkus really does consider the crate to be his home. He just went a bit ballistic on Sunday for some reason, and that sort of hyper behavior led to Monday's disaster. What really sucks is that all of this happened after a prolonged period of improvement in Arkus' behavior and an increased level of me being able to trust him outside by himself. All of that seems to be for naught now.
  23. I've had to keep them separated since they were 9 months old.
  24. While I was out working today, Arkus pulled his Houdini act and got out of his crate. There was a terrible dogfight, and now I have two injured dogs. Zora really got the worst of it. Now I have to decide which one will be leaving, and figure out how the hell I'm going to make that happen. F'ing hell!
