  1. I love this conclusion!
  2. Sometimes GM gets it right, the G8 is one of those sometimes.
  3. Black G8 GT in the showroom, looking good. I may go visit the sales chick I know and put her on notice for the ST when it comes.
  4. You do that, and you have to send it to me when you are done with it.
  5. If I won the lottery, I'd buy a fleet of these to customize in various ways.
  6. Or... Turn it into a Holden. :AH-HA_wink:
  7. Don't be rediculous, I love it as is. Just thinking about some personalization I might choose to do. Afterall, the temptation to turn it into an El Camino is there as are the parts to do the job. Let's see if I can resist the urge.
  8. I see the logic in what you say,Hyper. Too bad that some of the powers that be do not.
  9. and maybe dump the scoop hood... This is a dangerous train of thought.
  10. I'm sure all three owners are happy.
  11. Maybe the answer will be to look for someone to do a show quality repaint once I get the car. I could get proper white stripes as well instead of the factory stickers.
  12. Well they are scans of old prints. The 70 pic was shot with a cheap pocket camera and the 87 was shot on the wrong type of film by accident. I have some nice B&W shots of the 87.
  13. I doubt it is the same, Holden generally doesn't share paint colors with GMNA models. But it could be very similar. If you've ever seen a black 2004-06 GTO, that's the color. Up close you can really see the metallic, from a distance the color just looks off a bit without the sharp gloss of a solid black. Its ok, just not what I want.
  14. There are bargains to be had in that category. :AH-HA_wink:
  15. Yup, that CCC SS was my first brand new car. No on Project Camino - it will be GTO Orange metallic and pearl white.
  16. If that happens, I won't bother. I'll just enjoy mine and the memories of when I cared about new cars.
  17. Just about any pre-1973 GM, and quite a few after that. One example: 1986/7 Buick Regal T-type Turbo.
  18. Kind of tough to buck my own traditon after owning these two: ... and a black Monte Carlo SS, and a black '57 Chevy, and a black 340 Duster, and my black Silverado, and my black Firehawk, and my black Maserati...
  19. I'll have to see what the 2010 color choices are. It flies in the face of my history to get one of these not decked out like the car in my sig, but I really don't like the metallic.
  20. I'm just a purist when it comes to black.
  21. Look at any black GTO or G8 and that's it.
  22. I really wish they would, but I'm guessing it won't happen before the next generation - if ever.
  23. The metallic black paint they use. I really love a solid black, but will have to choose something else for my new Sport Truck. Ah well, change is good, I guess.
  24. I hope there are enough people that think as you do so that the V8s can remain with us.
  25. We shall see. But working against success from within is an underhanded thing to do, and counterproductive. Wanting to damn the current approach and sabotaging it before it starts smacks of an arrogant hubris.
