  1. I'll get to that. Right now, I'm drooling all over a "care package" I just received from NYIAS. :AH-HA_wink:

  3. Well Walt, you know the G6 and I will never be friends. That said, congrats on the upgrade and on keeping your wife happy. The package really does look better on the sedan as everyone has been saying. And I do have a weakness for black cars. When you post about your new Camaro, I won't even remember that you got this car. :AH-HA_wink: Good luck with it!

    Don't do it, Mr. Blu.
  5. Well said, my friends (except for FOG) J/K FOG For me both Chevy and Pontiac have been my passion, so it's hard to think of them in opposition to each other. I've owned some killer examples from both brands and hope to continue to enjoy them both.
  6. I could use a new one... but I don't think I want his!
  7. Wow... just wow. It would take guts to drive that around town.
  8. Presented without comment. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-594683847743189197
  9. Between the two of you, we certainly have some top notch coverage of NYIAS this year! Thanks to both of you. It looks as though I will not be able to attend the show afterall, so I'll just have to make my machine's sound work so I can hear Z's interviews instead.
  10. A certain level of civility is all that's required here, let's make that happen shall we?
  11. I had considered looking for one of those beds for the Mothertruck at one time. But I now have two new GM bedsides for its fleetside bed, so I'll be using those when I finish that project.
  12. I doubt you have any age on me (I'm 44), and I also remember "made in Japan = junk". I just think that the Chinese will have a more difficult time in our market for several reasons. - They are used to making junk and getting away with it, even outright copies are viewed as legitimate products. - They have shot themselves in the foot with the dangerous stuff they've been caught sending here. - Their communist leadership is still a liability in many ways. - Their tech is still way behind. - The current flap over Tibet isn't doing them any favors. As for us, we certainly have a good shot at capturing the market for many emerging technologies -if we get our act together. We need not only the innovations, but the will to hold those businesses once established. The balance needs to shift a bit more toward actual production and away from the paper gains of Wall st. I think we can do it - especially in the field of alternative fuels and propulsion tech.
  13. To be blunt, your posts often end with nationalistic barbs and stereotypical slurs. I'm simply requesting that you self-edit a bit.
  14. True, but I expect that there is little time to change anything but small details such as this. Perhaps even a change this small might have to wait until a second year of production. I hope not, as this thing is like a zit on a beautiful face.
  15. OK, that's enough. The interest of this board supercedes all other concerns. As an administrator of C&G, I am asking that the comabativeness in this thread (and others) be tempered a bit. Debate and disagreement are being reduced to insult and attack which runs counter to our rules of conduct. I've said this before but it bears repeating. Newcomers should spend a bit more time reading and getting to know the crowd here before engaging in incendiary and counter-productive battles. A wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and areas of expertise, make this site a broader repository of knowledge concerning the automobile than most others. Let's not squander that on petty and unsolveable differences. Some sparring is to be expected and is tolerated (even enjoyed) here, but let's keep the unvarnished animosity to a minimum.
  16. Hmm. Well DP, there are factual problems with your position - but let's ignore that for a moment. Think about this: What the 5th gen Camaro will be bringing to the table remains an unknown at this point and to judge it now is a pointless endeavor. And, it is rather unusual to hear such animosity by an owner/fan of one F-body for the other one. They really are so closely related that this seems absurd. Good natured ribbing is common, but a lack of respect is odd - and somewhat off-putting. Finally (putting on my admin hat), you really should dial it back a notch or two for the sake of peace on the forums. Just some friendly advice.
  17. Wow! Even when you are optimistic, we disagree. Seriously though, I see Chinese cars as having a huge uphill battle to even gain a foothold here. China's rep is bad and getting worse all of the time for just about everything they make and ship here - they suffer from a (well-deserved) perception as purveyors of low-quality products to a degree equal to Japan's (less well-deserved) positive perception. Also, the North American automobile market is already way too crowded as it is. The Chinese will have to wait for a better opportunity to enter it. The exception could be products with American, Japanese, or European names which are built under strict supervision by those foreign companies using cheap Chinese labor. The foreign companies know how to produce cars which can survive in the NA market, The Chinese do not.
  18. I wouldn't doubt that it will move before they go on sale.
  19. Toyota is losing their tail on Tundra already, I'd give it a 50/50 chance that they produce the HD version. And a 100% chance that the HD will be delayed if they decide to go for it.
  20. Awesome paintwork!
  21. None of the 888 have a sunroof.
  22. I'll be keeping my eyes open for one.
  23. I thought I was the one doing the waiting.
