  1. I could be talked into it - for a price. :AH-HA_wink:
  2. I've only done it once.
  3. No argument, just concern.
  4. The car itself isn't there, just a ton of memorabilia including photos of the car. It was a Cord of the coffin-nose variety.
  5. I'm certain we will!
  6. I'm less worried about the ability of the car to move well than I am about its ability to sell well. Keeping the Camaro alive is what this is all about.
  7. Forces outside of GM are equally responsible.
  8. That's another good link, I've looked into Speartech myself and they have their act together. This kind of stuff really points out how much the net has changed my life, projects of this scope don't seem so impossible anymore. Which is a good thing because I love this type of update on cars with classic design.
  9. Who else remembers when GMI spoofed us with that C&Q thing?
  10. Sad and stupid, but that just means we need to get'em while they're hot. I'm not missing this boat, since my car buying will be forced into early retirement by the foolishness of others.
  11. So true, and the one thing I have never done. I really need to gain that skill and capability. Welding opens so many doors of possibility.
  12. Cool link, Supersport.
  13. The El Camino sold about a million copies over its run. This new Pontiac is limited to about 10k/year, so selling all of them easily is a good bet. The downside is that CAFE and other excuses may be used to rob us of the entire G8 line prematurely.
  14. Yeah, '74-'75ish it was really bad - a giant graphic that covered most of the hood on Z/28s My reference stops at '73, so I have just memory to go on for those years.
  15. The first Z/28 with A/C was in '73.
  16. Yep! Stand alone during the split bumper years as well - don't think I've ever seen one though.
  17. In some years it was, but I believe they were after the split bumper era. I could be wrong though. I'll check one of my references. I seem to remember a "sticker package" 2nd gen RS after the split bumper cars.
  18. How about a G8 coupe styled in similar fashion? Or even a G6 replacement on Alpha? Big enough? Just a thought.
  19. Oh, you mean the worldwide forests that are disappearing by the second? Truth is we need bottom line numbers on the increase found in the atmosphere, what the sources are both natural and otherwise , and finally a definitive interpretation of what all of that means. "insufficient data to give a meaningful response"
  20. There is a certain appeal in having it named after a cruise missile. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. Yeah, that's part of the reason this worries me.
  22. Damn! Four replies while I was typing mine! What did you find, NOS?
  23. Here's the thing, NOS. This is a tougher swap than merely the electronic concerns may indicate. There are physical barriers to using an LS engine in a car that never saw one from the factory. Mount points are very different than the traditional smallblock (same goes for the trans.) a host of other details are also in the way. For this reason, I have decided to use the Ramjet 350 smallblock efi engine in Project Camino. The engine itself is plug and play, and it comes with a stand alone controller. The physical swap of an LS engine is actually the hardest part of retofitting an older car as several aftermarket companies can handle the electronic issues pretty easily. The flip side is that some older cars have the option of conversion kits to properly install the LS. I have seen them for older Camaros/Firebirds, Chevelles and such, but I have yet to see one for the Vette. I'd do a search or three to see what's out there for the Vette. For my project, the ramjet is a much simpler solution.
