  1. Huckabee doesn't seem the type to quit - he is likely angling for the VP spot.
  2. Think about what you most want in a car, and then list what you'd just as soon not have. Don't let yourself be restricted by any safety or environmental, or crash regulations. What items would you be just as happy not having? I'll list mine later. :AH-HA_wink:
  3. Damn! That's just horrible.
  4. Experiment indeed. That stuff is not about driving, it is about commuting.
  5. It's the screen itself that I find most offensive - I never want one in any car I own.
  6. I think you guys are misinterpreting what I'm saying a bit. In this sort of car, the driving experience should be elemental and paramount.
  7. Actually, I love an uncluttered dash, one that is all business. Too many buttons, symbols, and switches just junks it up for me.
  8. That has nothing to do with it whatsoever.
  9. When it comes to cars like Camaro, Challenger, Mustang, GTO, and even BMWs, I'm a purist. I want these cars to be driver's cars, not techno-platforms. All of that stuff is merely a distaction to me when I drive a performance car. Given the option, none of it would find its way into my new car. To me, cars like this are an escape from the world of technology and the insane pace of life in general. Anything that glows, buzzes, beeps, or rings ruins the experience. Hell, I rarely even used the stereo in my Firehawk - I loved having the car itself capture all of my senses .
  10. haha, no. It's the people that think such things are a requirement in a car that earn that appellation.
  11. I love this car. I don't give a rat's ass about the interior, or the weight (it's really a musclecar not a pony car like Camaro and Mustang). American performance cars were never about interior luxury beyond good gauges and good seats. I too, am sick of all the Nav, bluetooth, heated seat, blah, blah, blah. To me, those things are just a distraction from the virtues of a given car - they can cover up a bad car or hide a good one. In either case, they inflate the price. But then, I'm not a dash-groping gadget-pansy.
  12. CR has a credibility of zero, what they say, be it positive or negative, is of little to no value.
  13. Update from a poster on the G8 Board: First off, color lineup for 2009: #11-White Hot #17-Maverick Silver (NEW) #18-Magnetic Gray (n/a on GXP) #26-Sport Red (NEW) #39-Stryker Blue (NEW) #62-Liquid Red #64-Karma Metallic (NEW) #80-Panther Black #25-Stealth Blue and #77 Ignition Orange appear to be out, so if you want either of those two colors you'll have to act fast. Same interior codes as 2008. The GXP will only come in leather but shows the same codes as the others. Guess there might be special sticking or embossing. The GXP will have specific 19" polished WHeels with the Summer tires or a new All-Season tire in the same size. All three models are showing the XM code of U2K and the Bluetooth code. GXP will be the only one offering a 6-speed manual it looks like. GXP will have it's own FE3 High Performance Suspension and different rear axle ratios. It shows two possibilitites. a 3.70 and a 3.27. No word yet on engine option with GXP. Stay tuned. Karma! I think my color choice may have been decided.
  14. There's been talk of a few things, but the GXP package is the only other one I think we can count on so far.
  15. Only BMW has "seen the light". Everyone else is too addited to the notion of the fuel cell being the "magic bullet" Hopefully reality will set in and other manufacturers will follow BMW's lead on this.
  16. Water vapor, just like the fuel cell. I'd love to see us get to the point where hydrogen ICEs are viable in great number, but E-85 already has the the infrastructure advantage here. Also, the mods to a car required by E-85 are much less extensive and expensive. E-85 is better for the short-term and can have a near-immediate effect. I still want hydrogen ICEs ASAP.
  17. I hope these arrive soon, can't wait to see if they fit (with or without mods).
  18. It is 2008. It will be a short model year with the 09s being built earlier in the 2008 calendar year than usual. A number of options will become available in the 2009s that the 08s don't offer. Pricinpal among them will be the manual transmission.
  19. *re-bump* They are for these wheels of course. Hopefully they will fit!
  20. Huge range for me, in both era and style. But, when I don't like something, I really don't like it. Opera, Hip-Hop, Rap , and just about all dance music fit this category. My center is definitely progressive rock, usually with meaningful lyrics. But, my taste branches out in a thousand directions from there. Everything from New Age like Shadowfax to Psychodelia like Jefferson Airplane, to Southern Rock/blues like The Allman Brothers, to singer/song writer stuff like Jim Croce or James McMurtry. I love Coldplay and Live, as well as Temple of the Dog and Moby. I could go on forever with divergent examples. One last pairing: John Denver and Rachmaninov. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. Huckabee actually has some excellent positions on a number of big issues, but he is way too much a part of the extreme religious right in the end. The Republicans really shoot themselves in the foot with the social issues they allow to define them. Without that baggage, they could probably own the government for the forseeable future. At least the ones like Huckabee. But that's what Libertarians are for. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. My state isn't part of Super Tuesday, but if yours is, I agree with Satty - GO VOTE! If Ron Paul does go the third party route, I'd be pleased. I am a registered Libertarian after all.
  23. Thanks guys! I want to try a few other combinations: 1) main color black w/ red outlining on the bowtie 2) main color metallic (silver) with black outlining on the bowtie and a blue bowtie inner color Maybe some other variations with Black and Silver main colors.
