  1. I understand the concept, it just disgusts me. So socialist and bland.
  2. By limiting choices and having to hold this mindset as a directive. Even if I were a proponent, I wouldn't always follow the plan and very few others would. This is just human nature and it dooms ideas like this, no matter how well intentioned.
  3. There is absolutely no way that I would spend that kind of effort on restricting my life.
  4. The V6 cars (especially with a manual) go pretty cheap. Quite a bit of car for the money. I just wanted to point out that you can get more car for the same money as some bland old sedan. Just keep your eyes open and when you are really ready, I'd bet you could find one like the ones I've posted within your range. Note the relatively low mileage of those cars Vs. the price. Don't spend your cash on some dumpy W body with over 100k on it - you won't be happy. Pick a few cars you really like, and save a serch for each one on ebay. After you follow the auctions for a while you'll know a good deal when you see it.
  5. Well some of them seem bright enough - they aren't too happy with some aspects of their purchase. :AH-HA_wink:
  6. We shall see. I should have plenty of time to decide as it will likely be a second model year car.
  7. My favorite comment following the story: I'm looking forward to the TSB issued by Ford the covers how the sentient onboard computer causes a significant power drain and may cause the battery to die prematurely
  8. No, but you do have to pay for it one way or another.

  12. There just won't be enough of them to offer the V6. With production as low as it will have to be, GM will want to sell only units that maximize profits. As for me, I'm hoping for at least 400HP in a GXP version, which I may completely debadge.
  13. OK, now I can think about what to suggest.
  14. That's what happens when a car sits a long time and then becomes a daily driver.
  15. You know, one of my oldest friends bought a Tundra. I can only hope that he can get out of it before he gets burned. They are truly the most ill-prepared product Toyota has released in recent memory. Perhaps another year of development and testing could have made them a worthy competitor. As released, they are hurting Toyota's reputation. Not that I'm complaining.
  16. Ugh! Fake things annoy me.
  17. Well, just how much will you be spending on your lightly-used Hypothetical? My knee-jerk answer is a late-model F-body (even the V8s can get very close to 30mpg or better). However, your insurance may jump to a level that doesn't work for you. And, I just don't see you being comfortable in anything but a really small car. So I'm not really making any suggestions until you give me some more specifics on budget and how you expect to be using whatever you get over the next few years. BTW: I wish you lived nearby so I could fix that damn carb in the Cutlass and stop your badmouthing it! Yes, the carb is the problem.
  18. I thought it was called a "Smart".
  19. Damn soulless Toyotas.
  20. The fun doesn't have to end as long as such items are posted here. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. OK folks, We will not be starting a war between sites here, so get that notion out of your heads right now. A little fun was had, and we'll be leaving it at that. Right?
  22. In fact, I've seen much harsher posts allowed to remain on your site, no?
  23. Point taken. But really, that post was hardly a bash. A jab perhaps, but not really at bash levels.
