  1. At $200, you are looking for a garage sale find. You need a desperate seller, fortunately for you desperate musicians aren't too hard to find. Check the local classified rag (the one around here is the "Penny Pincher").
  2. I read one of the e-mails from dreamhost: all I can say is that the twit that wrote it is very lucky that he's on the other side of the continent. I have never read such a nasty, condescending and insulting piece of steaming crap from someone who is supposed to be there to support a customer. ...And I'm being generous. Our agreement with these people can't end too soon. The thing is, we are paid up way ahead and to change now would cost C&G too much. I think that the time to get donations together will be at the end of the current hosting agreement. Meantime, we will simply have to demand the service that we have paid for. I'm sick of folks in this industry thinking that they can just dictate to the customer and not honor their agreements. These petulant children need to have their feet held to the fire until they fulfill their end of the bargain. Yeah, I'm pissed!
  3. It wouldn't have to challenge the Corvette (at least not directly).
  4. Oh I'm aware of that reality, but it would make one hell of a showcar. And... When the timing is right... I could think of some parameters and outside justifications to make it conceiveable as a production car.
  5. I will reserve judgement for now.
  6. Many of the luxury buyers wouldn't even know if their car of choice had a DOHC or pushrod engine. Such mechanical realities are what they pay someone else to worry about, these folks are results oriented and don't bother with the details. The technosnob, gadget-pansy, auto writers and certain enthusiasts are the only ones who give a rat's ass what sort of valvetrain a given luxury car is using. The idea that DOHC is a requirement to play in this arena is a patently absurd notion supported by nothing more than journalistic flights of fancy.
  7. That's because it isn't. The LSx engines are: -more powerful -less expensive -less complex -more reliable -require less space and therefore provide better packaging -are more fuel-efficient -weigh less It's a no-brainer.
  8. Pushrod engines make more sense. DOHC engine fetishes aside, the LSx engines are superior in so many ways that a thinking person would make them the preferred choice.
  9. I like the way you think.
  10. Sequoia
  11. Sweet drawing Ryan, you've got some talent! But, I'd expect to see a bit more 290 in the actual design.
  12. Unless it was at the opposite end of the market, had a different name, and wasn't Fiero-sized... Just thinking out loud. :AH-HA_wink:
  13. The LS engines are lighter than the Northstars. If the CTS-V eclipses the M5 in some performance aspects (horsepower) as promised, it will go a long way toward enabling GM to ease the price upward. Thus, the analogy to the Zo6. I believe that they know what they are doing and that the CTS-V will stun with its numbers once tested. The price advantage over the M5 will be significant enough for even luxury buyers to take notice while all the while offering a distinct Cadillac style instead of the "me too" approach taken by others. There is reason for optimism here.
  14. I can't wait until the Vibe, and NUMMI itself, are history. This BS of sleeping with the enemy has to end.
  15. What a future M5 will have doesn't matter right now, if it matters at all. The CTS-V is the luxury car equivalent to the Zo6, the best bang for the buck in its segment. If the CTS-V bests the performance of a same model year M5 ever, it is a big bonus to that formula rather than a requirement. Fuel-efficient Caddies are a nicety , not a marketing requirement.
  16. I know how I would update the HHR, but many possibilities exist. Don't forget that it is stylistically based on the original Suburban of which many generations and styles are available to choose from.
  17. I know that you must have said so before, but I assume that you found a trunklid and bumper cover in color, and that's why the rear quarter is still in primer - right?
  18. It looks like GM will keep the title this year after all. But this will be a dogfight for some time to come.
  19. Works for me!
  20. I could lend you Arkus. :AH-HA_wink: Seriously though, this isn't good. It seems like someone has made you a target.
  21. You should try a Duramax in 4 low! :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Thanks Trucker, and I understand the motivations. :AH-HA_wink:
  23. The M5 is obviously the target for the CTS-V. If you believe anything to the contrary, you are fooling yourself. The nature of the car speaks for itself and Caddy has other plans for a 3 series competitor.
  24. Have to disagree, "retro" can be updated as we are talking about a time in which cars were updated every year, so opportunites abound. What has been lacking has been the will to actually try it. The new beetle my be the exception to the rule here, it's options seem limited. But the rest of the list could have been done. In any case, the HHR is only vaugely retro and can easily be updated. What you propose, is a one-way ticket to boredom. A true wagon version of Cobalt would lack the appeal of the HHR, and sales would reflect that. Plain vanilla won't do Chevy any favors these days.
