  1. I'm with Z. and Hyper here, all of these half-baked apology mobiles need to vacate the Pontiac lineup ASAP. If Pontiac is to have any value, it has to genuinely be the performance division - that's its reason to be. G5,G6,Vibe,Torrent, GP, all need to become memories, and the sooner the better.
  2. Now that's the kind of original thinking and "can do" attitude I like to see from GM! "Make it so!" Simple as that.
  3. That article is nothing but assumptions and journalistic misconduct. Nardelli didn't say anything about SUVs, that was the writer's assumption. In fact, he didn't mention any specific class of vehicle let alone individual models. The piece is pure fluff, irresponsible and full of the latest "slant" in auto-journalism (kill the SUV). Should some of these products be dumped? Hell yes! But the rest is just speculative crap.
  4. Magnum?
  5. Not to criticize, but burning bridges isn't always beneficial.
  6. Screwy brakes on a Chrysler product is nothing new, nor surprising. But wheels falling off of Hondas? That's news!
  7. Good thinking,Z. If that coating is some type of oil, you might have contaminated the pads. That's not good, but pads aren't very expensive, so if that happened -replace them.
  8. No, it's not normal. Did you run them really hard right after the install? They do have to wear-in but normally that doesn't involve smoke. If they perform properly, there are no funny noises, and they stop smoking, you should be fine. If it keeps up, something is wrong, put it back in the air and check them out. Hopefully you haven't "purpled" the rotors or glazed the pads.

    C&G Routine

    It varies.
  10. I finally got back to the project over the last few days. I completed the sanding/prep and have coated the frame, firewall, inside and outside of the cowl, and the front floor boards with Plastikote "Rust Fix". The stuff works quite well, and despite all of the sanding, I want to have all of these ares well-protected so I have coated everything. The stuff is really strange to work with and coats unevenly, goes on clear then changes to an "ink purple" and when it finally dries it is like a black primer. I plan to re-coat before I move on to primer and paint to get any of the areas where it hasn't "taken" yet. After the stuff finally cures, I'll do the primer and final painting. After that, it will be time to re-assemble the suspension. Pics:
  11. R.D.1 = Rural delivery The Coast of Maine is beautiful, the interior not so much.
  12. I'm completely immune to this stuff - I never play video games.
  13. Maybe I'm not awake yet, but I don't see how to vote .
  14. Confining describes the situation pretty well. It's not exactly a lease, more of an "arrangement". And that is part of the problem.
  15. Some place without neighbors, an address that starts with R.D.1. Upstate NY, PA, New England, Northwest Pacific coast ( not CA), Alaska.
  16. Beyond strange. Only three bids and it's already more money than that sad, old, POS is worth. People will buy anything.
  17. Well, so much for my grand plans. Phase 1 of the barn re-organization is all but complete, however phase 2 may never happen now. I may have to move. The arrangement that provides this place to me is becoming an anchor around my neck and I'm not so sure I can tolerate it much longer. I hate moving.
  18. Very cool! I've always preferred Formulas over T/As. And, they are far more rare. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. I can still re-live that morning moment-by-moment by just thinking about it. It is burned into my brain so completely that its as close to total recall as I can get.
  20. You simply cannot do this.

  22. For me, the G6 represents the worst translation of concept-to-production in recent GM history. The concept G6 was brilliant, so much so that I could almost ignore the FWD issue completely. Then the production car was intro'd and it made me ill. Bring on Alpha!
