  1. With a used car, everything is on the table and each aspect of the car has an importance of varying degree depending on the car's intended purpose. As in daily driver vs. collector car vs. Hot Rod vs. project etc. .
  2. :rotflmao: Yup, I know the film. Actually, we can do quite a bit about it. But the solutions are politically difficult and offend some religious sensibilities. I vote we do it anyway, but those who can don't seem to have the will.
  3. Excellent website: http://www.gnregistry.org/gnhome.htm
  4. Our pleasure,76. Keep us posted.
  5. I think we are saying the same thing and getting lost in semantics. T or T-Type was simply a trim option and not tied to the Turbo option. It certainly made for some odd combinations along the way.
  6. One word: Zeta
  7. Just because it had the turbo didn't make it a T-Type and the reverse is also true. Very confusing. T-Type was a trim option and actually had nothing to do with the drivetrain: a T-Type could be ordered with a NA 305 V8, for example. My favorite was a T-Type Turbo in that Silver Grey Metallic color they used in '87. I've come close to buying one more than once. To directly address the original question of value, as I've said before these things are priced all over the place. However, The only ones I ever considered seriously making an offer on were all priced within a few thousand of 10K up or down. These were very clean, low mileage examples.
  8. I guess I didn't word things well in my last few posts so I'll try again. What I was after was information that would have bearing on the design of forthcoming cars. I wanted to know what would eliminate a new car from consideration for each of us. Perhaps I should have restricted it to picking one thing that would eliminate a given car. For example, my "one thing" would be FWD. That would be something about which there would be no negotiation for me. Anyway, i'm not going to be a forum nanny about it: Carry On.
  9. Population is the core issue.
  10. Just think hypothetically,BV. And don't worry, I'm not scolding anyone. Used cars are an entirely different thing though, the parameters aren't the same. Asking this question about new cars can tell you quite alot about what new cars should be. That sort of feedback was what I was going for.
  11. Not as dialed-in as I'd like to be. :AH-HA_wink:
  12. Pssst! Fly. Your car is old. Seriously though, I'm surprised the Aurora has them as not much else has for a very long time.
  13. You interpreted the question correctly,Hudson. Others have strayed a bit without a doubt. I also intended for this to apply only to NEW cars. Your list is far less restrictive than my own, but I have a few items that are qualified by rare exceptions. Even so, the list of new cars I would consider remains short.
  14. The weather here has been very disturbing for months, excessive rain, consistently warm, with violent swings in temperature before/after large storms. The grass is green and growing in January ! I've never seen that before. Something is definately wrong, just what that might be isn't sure. If, in fact, human activities are to blame, we would do better too look at doing something about the largely unregulated Industrial polluters around the globe than at cars. They have been getting a free ride on the backs of auto manufacturers for far too long. But, as someone who has spent most of my waking hours outside for the last two decades, I'm certain that something is very, very, wrong.
  15. They are also often clueless about what really is available beyond what sits on their lot. Manual Colorados do exist as I have driven one. But, the knee-jerk ordering of automatics by dealerships makes the manual nearly unknown. You should advise your sister to factory order what she wants. If you walk in with a printout of the specs, you can bypass all of that salesman BS.
  16. Yes, and the noises I'm talking about say maybe sooner.
  17. You might all get to watch me completely lose it again if the host doesn't get it together soon.
  18. There's been lots of noise about the car happening sooner than announced, but no confirmation.
  19. A bit premature on the complaints, don't you think? 1. Perhaps, but would look too busy on a showcar. 2. Obviously 3. You'll get a fight from many on this one: personal preference and all 4. You can't possibly know from pictures 5. Just a maybe, none of us has tried to use them yet 6. absolutely rediculous to try to judge this from a pic It's still a showcar but my guess is the production version won't stray very far at all from what we see right now.
  20. I wouldn't even count on that 6.0L displacement if I were you. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. Drivetrain info is still a well-kept secret.
  22. The wheels are more an interpretation of the "Mag" wheel covers found on early SS cars. Anyone else catch the thin, red line at the edge of the rims? A very cool touch mimicking the "Red Line" tires of the musclecar era. This car has so many subtle details that each pic is like a treasure hunt.
  23. I'm with Z on this, do all of your homework on this one.
  24. I wish I could. It's another item on the old life list.
  25. Thanks for the offer 76, but I have a brand new Chevy grille still in the box .
