  1. How do you know this? And it's Epsilon II, not I. We don't know how good EPII is yet. The RX gets by on a (correct me if I'm wrong) Camry-derived platform. I think the SRX will be fine on TE.
  2. Why is it called Theta Epsilon if it is just an aluminum Theta platform? It would be called "Theta Premium" or something like that if it was just an aluminum Theta.
  3. The SRX/BRX (whatever it is called) is on a significantly different platform from the Vue. How much different are the TL and Accord?
  4. Ok, well regardless of whether or not it is real or fake, there is way too much of it, IMO.
  5. From reading the article, it sounds as though 33,000 plan to buy it if the average price is $31k...obviously some people are probably only willing to pay $25k and some maybe $45k. In other words, the survey seems to be "at $xxxxx, I would buy a Volt."
  6. Wow, there is quite a ridiculous amount of fake metal on the door panels, too. They should have done some sort of wood/metal combination like the CTS to break up so much shiny silver plastic.
  7. That Mercedes is pretty badass...
  8. At least it does not look retarded and has some usefulness. You could put a pair of sunglasses up there or something similar...
  9. It's a combination of Theta and Epsilon, and I would bet that it does have an aluminum suspension, seeing as how it has been deemed too expensive for any brand other than Cadillac and Saab at this point.
  10. This is on Theta II... Theta-Epsilon is what the BRX and 9-4x will ride on. I think it looks pretty good, the rear definitely resembles the ML.
  11. I assume the wood is probably just as thick as the fake metal, in which case it would also probably become obnoxious, but perhaps it would be better.
  12. I think the interiors are different enough... I'm beginning to dislike how wide the metal trim is above the glove box and along the center console and stack, though. I think I would get tired of it very soon.
  13. I don't think the shark was dead, but it was obviously exhausted/close to death. It really didn't even try to fight back.
  14. The fascias look terrible, the sides are ok, if pretty generic, and the interior looks very nice. I see nothing wrong with the CTS's C-Pillar (or whatever car that is if it's not the CTS, but it appears to be)...
  15. Aside from no chrome on the grill and smaller wheels, I'm not seeing what's so different. The interior still looks good...
  16. The body of the XJ is also all-aluminum, if I'm not mistaken. According to autoaluminum.org, aluminum saves about 17% over steel, meaning a 4000lb steel car would weigh around 3320lbs.
  17. thegriffon reported yesterday that Zeta and Sigma were going to be replaced by one RWD platform in the future. I don't have my hopes up that it ever comes to fruition, though, seeing as how Zeta has gone. Remember the G8 is Zeta, too.
  18. There's no way that 280 million people received those checks, there's only a little over 300 million people in the US. There are certain requirements one has to meet, and I did not meet them (only worked in the summer) nor did anyone I know that's my age other than people who work full-time. Obviously anyone under 16 isn't getting one, and neither is anyone who is retired. Those people make up more than 20 million of 300 million in the population. Still, it was probably a lot of money.
  19. A convertible version of the Prius? I'd like to see that, it'd be hilarious.
  20. I agree the platform probably won't be as good for the new SRX (I would be surprised if it is not AWD standard), that doesn't mean it won't be more a more successful product in the marketplace.
  21. The Fit sold 12k last month compared to 7k for the Aveo. Aveo is at 38k for the year compared to the Fit's 52k, and the only reason the Fit isn't selling better is because they can't produce enough of them. Aveo has/had incentives (with $4/gallon gas, that is ridiculous for such a cheap car to need incentives), while the Fit could sell for over sticker. I can't recall the last time I saw a Fit on the dealer's lot here...
  22. I don't see any need for the Wave... the Aveo already has no advertising as it is and doesn't sell all that well compared to other vehicles in its class, last I checked.
  23. The article or whatever you want to call it would have been much more interesting if he listed more than one vehicle per brand, and if half of them weren't already known to be production vehicles.
  24. If the car doesn't have to be a daily driver... ZR1. If it does... CTS-V. It doesn't really even require much thought, which is kind of sad. Of course I can't afford either of those vehicles... I guess Camaro would be my pick of vehicles I could afford (though I may be able to afford a CTS-V some day, ZR1 if I'm lucky).
  25. But then it competes with the Cadillac Alpha... If the Cruze is this nice I assume the Astra will be amazing... plenty good enough to compete with those other cars. If anything, Buick should get a SWB EPII sedan that's slightly bigger than the S40, the 9-3 could be smaller on DeltaII and the 9-5 bigger on EPII LWB... I guess the LaCrosse/Invicta and 9-5 will just have to be cross-shopped sometimes.
