Chicago 2012: Nissan NV200 Cargo Van: Comments
Oh, I see the automotive ADD is kicking in already!! I understand that tires are expensive (having purchased three sets in 2011 for all of my vehicles), but I was just referencing that the size of the tires in comparison to the rest of the van, they look very small (the Transit Connect's don't look nearly as bad as the NV's do).

Cheers or Jeers: $16,000 1998 Pontiac Grand Am
Really? THAT green was the color to have? I recall seeing a ton of these GA's in bright red, black, and white. Green was non-existent in my area of NJ. When I sold BPG in '99-'00, we couldn't give away our one green '99 GA GT coupe - it didn't sell well into 2000. Trade-in GA's from '96-'97 were never in green too.

Leaping From Spot To Spot
On the NJ Turnpike yesterday a little past the Newark airport, coming home from a 2-day offsite training in NYC, I spotted a car carrier with two new 2012 Fisker Karmas - one white, the other a silver-gray color - int he Trucks/Buses lane. I still love the look of these very expensive cars.

Chicago 2012: 2013 GMC Acadia: Comments
Thanks for the comparison pictures black-knight, it does appear I was correct in my statement The interior seems to be all-new, or a mix of old and new (I can't say it appears to be Outlook leftovers). The dash gauge looks similar to the current Sierra's basic (work) dash.

2013 GMC Acadia LED tail lamp close-up red exterior
Look, the chrome piece has the "GMC" logo debossed into it. I couldn't find any GMC logo on the current '07-'12 models. I wonder if it is anywhere else (headlights)?

Chicago 2012: 2013 GMC Acadia: Comments
Oh, and I still stand by my earlier comment that the Saturn Outlook donated its shell to the Acadia's MCE (look at the wrap-around rear glass for proof).

Chicago 2012: 2013 GMC Acadia: Comments
I like it much better now. At least we can say that the GMC Granite had a purpose - previewing the MCE'ed Acadia's styling direction. This gives me good feelings about the styling direction for the upcoming '14 Sierra too (and hopefully the new Canyon). The truckier look is better fitting with GMC's truck heritage; however, it may alienate female consumers now. I would seriously consider one at this point.

Project Mothertruck
Is this the grille you have for you're '88, Camino? I know that there is the single headlight grille, but the Silverado trim usually have the upgraded (stacked) headlights. Having the body color across the vertical bar compliments the look. As for being torn, I would go with your instincts. If you end up selling it, would it be a hassle for inspection to have the '89-'91 face? If yes, then stick with the stock '88. There's nothing wrong the Mothertruck looking like this: Those are fine looking Chevies!!

GM News: GM Announces New Upgrades To Plant, Quietly Signals New SUVs
I know that, I would not want it UniBody, but I am still excited by the new versions. Rumor had it that the Escalade would be switching from the BOF truck platform over to the Lambda platform and become a CUV instead. I bet that Cadillac will still get a Lambda regardless of the SUV Escalade still being offered (much like the Yukon/XL and Acadia and Traverse/Tahoe/Suburban all exist). I feel this will happen when the Lambda is redesigned from the ground up in 2015-ish.

2012 Chicago Auto Show Media Schedule
Well, my instinct is telling me that one brand will show a full-size pickup while another brand will show a full-size SUV... So going on that, I'll say GMC will show the Sierra and Chevrolet will show the Suburban. I'm afraid all you're getting is the refreshed Acadia. The GM press conference on the 2nd day likely won't have a reveal, just something social media related. I was really reaching about the new SUVs, regardless of whether its Chevy or GMC. I don't think we'll see them until Fall (LA) or Winter (Detroit or Chicago, 2013), as they will be released after the full-size pickups. But it is disappointing to learn that the Sierra & Silverado will not be debuting show truck versions at the Chicago show. That means either the NY show in April or the Texas State Fair (Ocotber or November?) would be the other options since they'll be on sale in early 2013 and I think the LA show (November) and Detroit would be kind of late to show them. Also, if there's no Colorado or Canyon debut in Chicago, that will be disappointing too. Chris, can you explain what you mean by social media related? What is that?

Captiva spotting
My mom owns a very well loaded 2005 Saturn VUE V6 AWD and I will admit that the interior of that thing did not age well. It is way too plasticiky for my tastes, with a very cheap feel to almost everything inside. Creaks and rattles? You betcha. Friends of ours had a 2003 4cyl/FWD VUE and they complained about the same interior issues. From what I could tell with my limited time in the 2008 models, the new ones appeared to be better in interior quality.
