Hey thanks! And I'm sorry for SUCH a delayed response....... It's a nice store, and more importantly, IMHO the best location of any of the three Caddy stores in town. We are on West Sahara within spitting distance of high-end communities such as Summerlin, Queensridge, The Lakes, etc. Caddy East (our store too) is in the ghetto east on Sahara from the Strip......and Findlay is in the Henderson automall.....(a nice automall, and growing area....but not as upscale as the west side.)

I'd say that perhaps that could be a big part of GM's problem......especially the "middle ground stance" portion of that. Of course Rick inherited his share of problems. I don't even remotely pretend to be as knowledgeable about the internal workings of GM anymore.....but what I do know about are the products GM has right now and the situation they are facing..... During Rick's stewardship........and he is the CEO, so ultimately it all falls on him....... 1) No excuse for the Corsa to not be on dealership lots right now. 2) No excuse for Cadillac not being a full tier-one luxury brand with a showroom equipped to dance with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus product-line for product-line. 3) No excuse for Buick and Pontiac to only have one true competitive entry (Enclave and G8)....even if they are being repositioned as smaller "niche" brands. 4) No excuse for the continued wait for the Camaro 5) No excuse for volume midsize sedans that truly do still date back 20 years (W-Body) 6) No excuse for the fact that, for all Rick's years in command, GM still seems to be a follower in way too many areas....and not a leader.....in the marketplace. I really believe, like Enzl said, that the "lifer" effect has truly hampered him as well. How much of the real world does he really know outside of a company like GM? I'm sure there are way other points I've missed.....but these few were the ones that came to mind quickly......

It's not bias, just lack of sheer knowledge. How many mainstream consumers over here know anything about Seat, Skoda, Citroen, Peugeot, or any other "foreign" company that's currently playing in Europe but not over here? Remember....these brits are not car enthusiasts..... but it is still shocking, their preceptions, nonetheless.

Agreed...... I think AutoWeek SUCKS.....(even though I still subscribe to it.) They could learn a TON of lessons from Autocar (U.K.)......to me, Autocar is THE BEST weekly auto rag on the market.......

So, We were contacted by a TV producer from England. They produce a travel show that apparently is very big in England....it's on prime-time. Well, they are in Las Vegas filming an episode on the Las Vegas "lifestyle." They asked us for a Cadillac.....because, you know, Cadillac being a quintessential American car (from a bling-bling standpoint).....and Las Vegas being a quintessential American city (also from a bling-bling standpoint.) They were going to spend 30 minutes filming the Cadillac in and around Las Vegas, etc. SO....after weeks of talking with these folks, I showed up at the first location.....the "World Famous Little White Chapel" north of the Strip in a Crystal Red 2009 CTS......loaded....a $50K CTS..... She (my contact, the producer) finally gets there and walks up to the CTS and I ask her "what do you think?" (Mind you her and the whole crew seem like they are prolly in their 20's to maybe 30's at the oldest.) She goes....."OMG....it's beautiful....simply stunning...............but it won't work...." I'm all like "What? What do you mean?" She says (you aren't gonna believe this)......"I didn't know Cadillac made modern cars......" Turns out what they were expecting was a hoopdie Cadillac.....like what Elvis drove.....apparently that's what they all thought we sold over here. Mind you she was extremely polite, and admitted the CTS was a beautiful car. I thanked her and proceeded to drive back to the dealership. Dumb broad.....

First of all, that was ONE thing I mentioned....and I admitted I agreed it was an extremist viewpoint. But let me play devil's advocate and ask YOU.....with all the tension in recent times over the middle east and their extreme hatred of us.....how can you even remotely know that this might not be a possibility? Tell me....convince me....how CAN you rule that possibility out......completely......? Back back to my more mainstream concerns......I notice none of you had a serious rebuttle for all the other issues I brought up......

I've stated many times......I think he's a snake....and I don't trust him one bit..... I TRULY don't like his tax policies.....I TRULY don't like his proposals on social spending.....I REALLY don't like the idea that we need to tax the rich more in order to give more to the poor. Everything I've seen and read from him tells me he is about as far-left of a democrat as you could get.....even Hillary was way more moderate (IMHO) and that's one of the reasons I might have voted for Hillary.... I don't really care where he went to college or how "smart" he is. That doesn't mean he is going to make the right decisions for this country....or lead us in the right direction. That doesn't influence me in the least..... Frankly, I don't think he's cut out to handle our best interests overseas either. Regardless of what you think we should do about Iraq. And finally, I don't believe he is as distanced from Muslim or Islamic interests as he has somehow convinced everyone he is. I don't think there is a Christian bone in his body from that regard.....and perhaps that is the part that scares me the absolute most. Extremists on the right have suggested even that he is the ultimate "plant".....a way to destroy our country from within. Even I would agree that's an extremist viewpoint.....but you know what? Deep down I'm scared of that possibility. Finally, I don't think it's a good idea AT ALL to have a government without any proper checks-and-balances. And with a democrat in the white house doing the bidding for a democratic congress......that just spells big, ugly, mess to me. Obama will basically be in a position to "rubber-stamp" any democratic proposal, no matter how taxing or spendy it may be, that comes across his desk.
