  1. Everyone I know here in Vegas is leaving town......and I have to work on Friday and Saturday, so it's not practical to drive back to SoCal just for Thursday.....so I'll be at home.....alone.....with my two puppies..... Actually will be a nice day off.....have the house to myself.....fix myself something special for dinner.....and just RELAX with no one bothering me!
  2. Laptops......emails......cell phones......blackberrys......I have lots of stuff to help me stay productive in an airport waiting for a flight.... Wagoner can do the same (although unlikely he ever would.)
  3. The unfortunate truth of this GREAT idea is, The Rick would still fly to Washington (probably first-class), have someone pick him up in a DTS or Caddy limo, drive him into D.C........and let him drive from down the street to in front of the Capital steps for the valuable photo-op...... These guys are way too out-of-touch with normalcy to actually <gasp> consider driving from Detroit to D.C....

    So...

I did about 130 in an Alfa Romeo GT Coupe 1.9L TDi on the autobahn just outside Frankfurt........ Man it did good at that speed.....and still felt like it had more to come.....which surprises me 'cause it's just an L4 TDi.....
  5. So.....after Porsche last year, looks like Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Land Rover, and Suzuki are pulling out as well...... I guess Suzuki's not such a big deal......but it can't be a good sign that such halo brands as Porsche, Rolls, and Ferrari are not even displaying at North America's supposed #1 auto show.....
  6. Well, my understanding is that they were going to install the phase cannons (predecessor to the phaser banks) but ran out of time because they had to leave spacedock early to return that Klingon home. But what was with those cheesy torpedoes in the first couple of seasons that couldn't knock a fly off the wall? "Enterprise" got much better once they installed "photonic" torpedoes in Enterprise......

    So...

What has got to be one of the BEST stretches of freeway for high-speed driving.......the 5 fwy between San Clemente in Orange County and Oceanside in San Diego County. On one side, the ocean.....on the other side, Camp Pendleton.....sheer nothing-ness for roughly 15 miles. The freeway is 8 lanes wide.....and for like 98% of the stretch, there is a barrier in the median (no cops crossing the median to come after you.) Normal traffic flow seems to be 80-90mph......I hit a governor-limited 120mph in my Mazda 6.....did about 120-125 in the CTS, but never hit a limiter (I thought it had one)..... CTS was GREAT at that speed. Felt very Germanic. It's wierd because you are in totally built up Orange County then, all of a sudden, NOTHING.....(due to the land being owned by the govt and part of the base.) Then, 15 miles later, you are back suddenly into another massive urban area (San Diego County.) Once you hit the San Diego County line, where the base starts, it's like traffic thins out...and everyone ratchets up their speed by a factor of 10-15mph.....
  8. While defense is most likely a necessary evil.....my understanding has always been that the Enterprise was built primarily for exploration....in fact, that was the guiding principle for Starfleet in general......
  9. They have the miniskirts in the new movie! (But I'll be more distracted staring at Chris Pine....) They might have sliding controls and knobs still......but I'm totally digging the "Apple Store" look of it all.....
  10. You could be his Agadore Spartacus.....! (From The Birdcage)
  11. I've thought about moving to an island, working in a local shop or bar or restaurant, and just enjoying a simple life for once.... But I guess we should all remember the grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side of the fence.....so right now I'm just trying to control my stress over money and other stuff.....and enjoy each day and each evening as best as I can....
  12. I do wear my heart on my sleeve. I tend to get emotional pretty quickly. But I always try to temper it....and know when to let the emotions out. I guess I'd rather have the emotions.....I like butterflies in my stomach.....I like those kinds of feelings.....so I'd rather have them. But when I say I get emotional, I mean heartfelt feelings.....not emotional like outwardly, if you know what I mean (I can't remember the last time I cried...outwardly emotional in that sort of way.) My biggest problem is I set myself up too easily to get taken advantage of. Which is strange, because I'm a pretty strong and independent individual in everyday life.....so it's funny that I'm that way when in love (or in infatuation, or whatever.)
  13. Hell....my ex did that for me.....against my wishes...... I'm lucky to have held onto my condo in CA.....and I have my CTS lease......and my puppies......that's about it boys and girls......but no, I'm not bitter..... Actually......it's been a sobering experience for me. I went from having two credit cards, an '06 Corvette Convertible, and an 815 credit score.....to the dumpster.... But I have my health, my friends, my family, a good job, and.....of course.....C&G...! I'm a lucky boy.....
  14. ......sweet trailer......and there's also a released picture of the new (old?) Enterprise......and I think it looks SWEET! Very 23rd century.....yet also clearly a predecessor to the other Enterprises we are all familiar with..... I'm always amused at all the blogging going on about how the Enterprise has changed "too much" or the interior (sorry Oldsmoboi) is too "apple-ish" and stuff....... Frankly, I don't know how you can do a modern-day movie 40 years after the original and not update the look and feel.......I like what Eick and Moore did with modernising Battlestar Galactica.....and so far, I think I like what I've seen from JJ on Star Trek.....
  15. Hmmm well since everyone is telling me to take it slow with Josh (yeah, funny....his name is josh-i-poo too) and to not commit too soon...... ......I think you and I could still work somethin' out......
  16. Call me wierd......but the best was this summer in Las Vegas when on Sunday afternoon, it would be 110+.....and I was LOVING laying out in the sun in the pool raking in the sun..... (Pool being a key point) Man I got some good sun this summer.....LOL
  17. OK.....I get the point. And to make matters worse, the "love" from northern CA has re-entered the situation......<groan>......I'm so confused!!!!!! Seriously.....I'll not necessarily "dial it back"....but continue the course. The course has been steady, but sure. So we'll keep it there. And, btw....our texts aren't all "I love You" and "I miss You" kind of texts.....but just that we stay in good touch. Now I have to contend with the NorCal situation too.....UGH....
  18. Got it! Thanks guys..... I'm just unusual in that when I see something I want, I usually know it....and am not one to "beat around the bush."
  19. Okay.....so I've met someone new. He's a great guy.....this Saturday will be three weeks from our first date. We've been really good about taking it easy, taking each day as it goes....and so on. My question is.....I'd love to just date him, and I'm not interested in meeting anyone else....so how quick is too quick....to ask him to be my boyfriend? Mind you I'm not talking about moving in, getting married, or anything like that....but we've hit it off SO GOOD that I'm ready to start thinking about taking some further steps. I've gotten all good signs from the beginning.....we kissed on the first date, held hands all throughout a movie, cuddled on the couch together at home, and just last Sunday, we took it a step further and, yes, had some "fun." We talk or text numerous times throughout the day, and he's been candid about how much fun he has with me and how much he likes me. So given the above situation, what do you guys think? I don't want to rush into anything.....but I know that I've found someone that I really like, and could end up caring for more deeply....so why not take the lead? I just don't wanna scare him......
  20. How about dinner.....then breakfast? :AH-HA_wink:
  21. I do some grand pancakes or waffles on my own.....don't need to go to a restaurant to enjoy them....lol
  22. .....it is....and I love it..... A strange, yet beautiful place...... As environmentally wrong as it may be, I find a certain beauty in a place like Las Vegas (or Phoenix) where the stark desert is interrupted by such areas of lush greenery and flora (developed suburban areas)....when there shouldn't be any at all......lol...... To be in the stark nakedness of desert rock and gravel and 115-degree temps one day......and on the same day, up at 8.000 feet in forests surrounded by pine needles and evergreens...and temps a good 40 degrees cooler....within a 45-minute drive..... It's all kinda f*cked up.....but really exotic in a wierd sort of way....
  23. I'll admit to a severe fetish for pancakes and bacon......pancakes with multiple tubes of butter to accommodate them......
  24. So.....we've been allocated 10 CTS-V sedans since ordering began. The first three I ordered loaded....specifically with the Recaro seat package. Since the first three, the Recaro seat package has been on hold....... So, 7 out of my 10 CTS-V sedans are equipped with standard CTS leather seats, and no alcantara steering wheel/shifter. To be honest....I have no idea of why the Recaro seat package has been on hold.....GM reps are surprisingly "mum" on the matter. I don't give a f*ck for the reason. Supply? Who knows....but for GM not to have planned ahead to provide adequate supply for what is seen as a "must have" on a vehicle of this caliber is just unacceptable. I guess what it gets down to is......manufacturers like BMW (M-Series), Mercedes-Benz (AMG models), Audi (RS models) don't seem to have a problem equipping their top performance sedans the way customers want them to be equipped..... This is just another example of General Motors' severe ineptitude when it comes to meeting the market head-on.....
