  1. Welcome all old and new!
  2. The styling was fine. The name was terrible.
  3. Looks like Hyundai and Ford went in together to buy grills in bulk. (2013 Taurus)
  4. Quite right Tailfin. February is a short sales month even with leap year and typically a light one at that. The Volt was UP for Feb 2011. It's just not where GM wants it to be yet.
  5. Many dealers in the US are not allowed to be open on Sundays by state law. Step 1 of picking a release date of an anticipated product is making sure your stores will be open to sell said product on said day. This was just a stupid flub on Chrysler's part, that's all.
  6. GM can ask, and get, MSRP on the 4-cylinder 'Nox and Terrain. No reason they shouldn't.
  7. might want to PM BlackViper
  8. Any idea when Chris_Doane will see the new Canyon?
  9. In other news, auto manufacturers raise the prices of natural gas vehicles 25%
  10. this looks more in between 'Nox and Traverse. I don't think it would replace either.
  11. platform for the next Chrysler 200 right there....
  12. I believe there is room for both brands in GM's stable. Holden is the easier fix so GM needs to concentrate on the big bleeder right now that is Opel. Yes the industry is vastly over capacity in the EU right now, but so was the industry in North America in 2007. It got right-sized and appears to be humming along rather nicely.
  13. Glad to see you're still lurking around here!
  14. You read something I didn't write. I said that horsepower ratings are no longer relevant. Torque, however, is the new horsepower. It just doesn't know it yet. Of course, I'm speaking in almost strictly marketing terms here.
  15. Sounds like I have my writing assignment for tonight. Sorry OCN, back on to March Carspotters now.
  16. But didn't ya know, the new GS has interesting new technology, such as blind spot monitoring, as featured on the 2007 Buick Lucerne, heads up display as on the 1992 Pontiac Bonneville, 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and night vision as featured first on the 2000 Cadillac Deville and later on the 2002 Lexus LX. Want to know how I know? The Lexus commercial that keeps running over and over touting all of the new technology that the new GS has and how much more technologically advanced the car is because of these things. sorry for the rant, but that commercial gets on my nerves so much that I'm 'bout ready to write an article blasting them for it and then tweet the hell out of it so maybe they will pull it.
  17. You are accidentally right in this case. With 278 ft-lb of torque, all the Towncar really needed to have a more modern feeling acceleration is a 6-speed auto. The gap between 2 and 3 is just too large. But hey, I'm only saying that as a guy who drives a 148hp with 250 ft-lb of torque pushing through a 3-speed automatic. which reminds me... I have to finish that article about how irrelevant horsepower ratings are anymore.
  18. "GM was taking risk with investors and consumers by saying they have a plan and not reveal any specifics. Also, the PSA deal doesn't solve the whole excess capacity problem. "It's not solving their problem, which is stemming the losses, and they are basically asking us to trust that the payoff will come in the future," said Krebs." Okay, I'm a part time automotive journalist hack and even I can see what GM is doing here. 1. Citroen/Peugeot needs economies of scale and platforms. 2. Citroen/Peugeot needs to fill excess manufacturing capacity. 3. Opel needs to get away from the German workers union. Anyone want to take a stab at step 4?
  19. Unveiling the RX in Geneva makes about as much sense as unveiling an all electric Scion iQ at the Texas State Fair. Unveiling the RX in Geneva makes about as much sense as unveiling an all electric Scion iQ at the Texas State Fair.
  20. Or maybe a NETS.
  21. I'll have a C-Series Touring Sedan Coupe please. Or maybe the Wagon.
