  1. There are typically waiting lists for diesel models of anything at VW.
  2. Not to discount how good the Cruze really is, but it has also really benefited by the Civic, Corolla, Focus, and Sentra stumbles.
  3. I think the Cruze Diesel will be the test GM is looking for.
  4. It's not at the expense of anything. There is still a RWD flagship coming. There is still a RWD 3-series fighter coming.
  5. YES!!!! I wish that 2.9 they were looking to put into the CTS before the "b-word", happened. It had I think 450 lb-ft of torque (too lazy to go look it up)
  6. This needs to have some more options "base" to make give it more value than the other hybrids. It's ok to have a weaker hybrid performance as long as the value is made up elsewhere.
  7. Nice to have some allies here again... but geeze, when you manage to even piss mudmonster off...
  8. A hovercar!
  9. I'd want to keep it FWD for the "wow! that's neat!" factor.
  10. They ARE. It's just not this car. Cadillac can not offer more than one vehicle type at a time?! The RWD flagship wasn't even given the go ahead till Whitacre became CEO. It is also going to be on an entirely new platform. You don't get a new platform like you download apps on your phone. They take time to build and develop. In the meantime, Cadillac dealers need more than CTS, SRX, Escalade to sell. There is no need for hi-per strut on a RWD vehicle. There will be an ATS-V using Magaride, but probably not air springs. But why should Cadillac give away one of their signature technologies on a base ATS? They can already go BMW hunting in a Cobalt SS... no need for Magnaride.
  11. I'm trying to imagine the $h!storm you would spew if Cadillac offered their flagship sedan to Taxi companies in order to boost profits and sales numbers.
  12. a beefed up TH 425 should do it.
  13. and give up my flat front floor? I think not. Besides burning the front tires off with a 556hp s/c V8 would be just as fun.
  14. I feel like I need to create a shortcut to these two lately....
  15. I'm wondering if it was just a Benz company car off the lot.
  16. but but... then it would be a FWD Cadillac flashship1!!!!11!!!!eleventy!~!!!!!~
  17. my guess is that the displacement would be reduced a bit, but otherwise be mechanically the same.
  18. bet the name could be bought cheap
  19. Too much "flair". Would be worth it for the one Von posted.
  20. Update: The case against the Mercedes Benz Executive has been dropped. One of the latest possible “illegals” has been arrested in Alabama for not carrying his driver’s license under the new anti-illegal immigration law. The problem? The suspect is also an executive manager for Mercedes Benz. From the AP: Prior to the new law, a person driving without a license would not be arrested, but instead received a ticket and a court summons. Mercedes Benz’s first U.S. assembly plant, built in 1993, is located near Tuscaloosa where the arrest took place. Alabama’s immigration law is thought to be the toughest in the country and is currently facing several legal challenges. Parts of the law are on hold while those challenges proceed, but the part that allows officers to check immigration status during routine traffic stops is still in effect. View full article

  22. If they want to do this, they need to bring about a small brand that isn't Jaguar.
