As of the middle of November I had my German bank accounts set up. as of now, my friends are purchasing a large two level, 3 bedroom, flat just off of Luxemburger Strasse. I will be renting a bedroom from them on the first floor. The married couple will live on the second floor. Their move in date would likely be around April '08. I will follow a few months later. The pictures I've seen of it are great! There will be more pictures coming.

I hope GM doesn't succumb to those German surrender monkeys.

It's called 2-mode Hybrid. It's called new diesel technology. It's called E-Flex. The Volt comes out in 2010. The new CAFE regs hit 35mpg in what..2022? well, I wasn't the one suggesting 40k for a Caprice, but I think it could run from 25k-35k with the right platform, engines, and equipment... yes If GM were to put the effort into it that they've put into the CTS and Malibu, the magazines would all be raving about Chevy's new Maxima/Avalon beater.

this just hit me. For the purposes of calulating CAFE, flexfuel vehicles get counted by the amount of gasoline they use when burning E85, not the total amount of the fuel. So something like the FlexFuel Tahoe gets counted as some crazy high rating like 80mpg or something. Back over at the RWD v. FWD debate on the Impala.... isn't the answer there just to make every engine option FlexFuel? 3.9 litre base <I know! groan! moan! bitching from the lot of you> and 5.3litre optional.

My 5.3 Avalanche is much smoother and quieter than my 3.6 DOHC CTS. The smoothest, quietest engine I've ever driven behind was a '94 Roadmaster LT-1. Buick Lucerne V6 is a close second.

I think the point is this: Does anyone outside of C&G care about what Chevrolet has stood for? The average american has the attention span of a meth-head Chihuahua on espresso. Just ask Chrysler how that RWD 300 is doin....

I think large FWD cars will be a common 2nd choice when people come down from their SUV/CUV high.
