Apparently my targeting sensors have pinpoint accuracy. The comment was meant specifically for your consumption. :AH-HA_wink:

Well two down...
As of the middle of November I had my German bank accounts set up. as of now, my friends are purchasing a large two level, 3 bedroom, flat just off of Luxemburger Strasse. I will be renting a bedroom from them on the first floor. The married couple will live on the second floor. Their move in date would likely be around April '08. I will follow a few months later. The pictures I've seen of it are great! There will be more pictures coming.

I hope GM doesn't succumb to those German surrender monkeys.

I had a great fall
Forget about negotiation with the Unions! GM needs to buyout PCS if they really want to cut their healthcare costs. Glad to hear you're at least somewhat ok.

UTT OHH, Zeta Platform in question
From the article: Sorry, this is just FUD. While I do believe there is a difference in economy between FWD and RWD, it's not great enough that there couldn't be a substantial improvement for both. As much as I like Lutz, I have to call him out on this as either a lie or intentional FUD. They do know how to get 30% better CAFE mileage from RWD cars. It's called FlexFuel. It's called 2-mode Hybrid. It's called new diesel technology. It's called E-Flex. The Volt comes out in 2010. The new CAFE regs hit 35mpg in what..2022? If GM can't expand E-Flex technology to cover full size sedans in 14 years, they should really just close up shop now and sell the whole thing off. edit: for those of you who don't read SlashDot.org, FUD means "Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt"

Debate not yet settled, but Lutz thinks Impala will be FWD
well, I wasn't the one suggesting 40k for a Caprice, but I think it could run from 25k-35k with the right platform, engines, and equipment... yes If GM were to put the effort into it that they've put into the CTS and Malibu, the magazines would all be raving about Chevy's new Maxima/Avalon beater.

Are you ready for a stark new future?
Interesting. I hadn't heard of that. from the Wikipedia: Wow! For being into Biofuels like I am... I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this.

Car for my mother
9-3 Sedan: Turbo 4 for efficiency, yet still fun, reasonably roomy, new one is pretty good looking. edit: and the 4-cylinder, completely loaded with everything including NAV and bose is 32k, 33k if she wants an auto.

Um Yay
what the hell kinda emoticon are you tryin to type Ocn?

Are you ready for a stark new future?
this just hit me. For the purposes of calulating CAFE, flexfuel vehicles get counted by the amount of gasoline they use when burning E85, not the total amount of the fuel. So something like the FlexFuel Tahoe gets counted as some crazy high rating like 80mpg or something. Back over at the RWD v. FWD debate on the Impala.... isn't the answer there just to make every engine option FlexFuel? 3.9 litre base <I know! groan! moan! bitching from the lot of you> and 5.3litre optional.

2nd Annual C&G Member's Rides Calendar
I have kidnapped him and am keeping him in the trunk of a Daewoo Leganza that is trying to be sold from the used car section of an undisclosed Mitsubishi dealership. You'll never find him..... in fact.... in all likelihood no one ever will.

NEW 2009 CTS-V!!!!
My 5.3 Avalanche is much smoother and quieter than my 3.6 DOHC CTS. The smoothest, quietest engine I've ever driven behind was a '94 Roadmaster LT-1. Buick Lucerne V6 is a close second.

I can't believe we share a city.

NEW 2009 CTS-V!!!!
Are you saying that Cadillac could have 25% market share in a segment occupied by Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar? All I've got to say to that is :sign0200:

Lutz: new Buick LaCrosse a "mind-boggler"
I think the point is this: Does anyone outside of C&G care about what Chevrolet has stood for? The average american has the attention span of a meth-head Chihuahua on espresso. Just ask Chrysler how that RWD 300 is doin....

Debate not yet settled, but Lutz thinks Impala will be FWD
I think large FWD cars will be a common 2nd choice when people come down from their SUV/CUV high.
