Personally, I have more confidance in GM's new 6speed <and current 4-speed for that matter> than Nissan's CVT.

how cadillac should quickly realign its car
considering that the current 4.6 N* barely fits in the applications it's used in now, I doubt a growth in physical size would work. I agree with you about the power figures tho.

Hello. Is this Miss Mitchell? Miss Martha Mitchell?- Sweet CTS Sport I detailed at work
The Passat I have now is one more than anyone really needs. My current fleet = '03 Avalanche, '04 CTS, '01 Passat- how cadillac should quickly realign its car

You....driving a black CTS..... ugh, now I'm going to have to go trade mine in...- Nissan, Renault Want GM Stake
GM-Nissan-Renault would put the combined company way out in front of Toyota.- Plane on a treadmill argument...
friction is such a minimal force in this case. If the wheels were actually cement bricks, then it would be a factor. the thrust of a single jet engine is about 20,000 pounds. the force of friction is in the range of 1,000 pounds. a 747 can rip it's landing gear off if it wants to.- Plane on a treadmill argument...
entirely wrong.- Plane on a treadmill argument...
incorrect. while the belt is moving, the wheels are rolling foward on the belt. Have you ever walked up a down an "up" escalator? if you tried hard enough, you could eventually make it to the bottom..... if you ever make it to the bottom of an "up" escalator, your legs were moving at a speed faster than, but opposite to the escalator.- Plane on a treadmill argument...
No! That is only the case if the rollerskate wheels are providing the forward motion. in this case your hand is providing the forward motion. the wheels are just along for the ride.- Plane on a treadmill argument...
you're trying to tell me, that if you move a rollerskate forward with your hand on a belt moving the same speed in the opposite direction, the rollerskate will stay in place relative to the earth? You need to go to the grocery store and try it. i'm going to have to get a video camera I see....- Plane on a treadmill argument...
then the wheels will spin at a rate equal to ground speed or twice belt speed, but the rollerskate will still be moving forward- Plane on a treadmill argument...
you're all over thinking the problem. I say again "Can you push a rollerskate along a grocery checkout belt even if the belt inversely matches your speed?"- Plane on a treadmill argument...

I thought was higher than that. shame though, they could advertise best in class base engine- Great NG CTS Spy pics
the problems with the X-type didn't lie with the AWD. In the X-type you had a choice between a Contor 2.5 or a Taurus 3.0. The build quality wasn't all that great, and it was too small... even for a baby jag. The x-type also *felt* like a FWD car.- How about this for a commercial?
Solara. edit: BTW, love the idea- NG GMT 360 Shelved
losing the Rainier, Accender, and 9-7x but gaining the the base 900 line.... yeah, that'll require an increase in production- Plane on a treadmill argument...
Ok, how about we think of it this way: On the front of the plane attach a rope, on the other end of the rope, attach a high speed winch, something that would operate much like the launching mechanism on an aircraft carrier. Place the plane on the same treadmill we've been talking about Activate the winch. which way will the plane move?- Plane on a treadmill argument...
You are correct in the case of a car. On a jet plane, the wheels aren't the source of the forward motion. The jet engine can push the body of the plane forward regardlessof the rearward force on the wheels because the bearing in the wheels negate this rearward force. - Nissan, Renault Want GM Stake
