  1. Unfortunately, that is a software limitation that I have no control over. That said, there is no harm in the "edited" note in the post, we don't think less of you for it.
  2. They make a special ...erm... stool.. for that.
  3. It's selling so well that discounts are few. No need to replace it yet.
  4. Definately a sports car interior rather than a luxury car interior. I still like it though.
  5. If they do AWD in the upcoming Verano, it will use the torque vectoring HALDEX system from the Regal and Lacrosse, which is one of the best (FWD-based) systems in the world. The Trax and Encore, as far as I know, use a traditional system albeit with good programming. I would be fine with either one as long as it gets me out of the driveway in the snow, and I know for a fact that the Encore's system can.
  6. The AWD in the Trax and Encore is actually one of the best out there. When you are stopped, you are in true 4x4 mode. Once you get going and the car decides everything is kosher in the traction department, it switches the AWD to FWD. If they did AWD in the Cruze (and hopefully the Verano), that is the system I would want them to use.
  7. I am in such a fog this week.... complete auto pilot.
  8. We will only buy AWD now because it has proven to be a big deal to us with our driveway which is very steep. We can get away without plowing since both of our cars are AWD. If we moved, that requirement could change. Personally, I would like my partner to have a Volt or Cadillac ELR that someone else took the depreciation hit on.
  9. Well because I have the Envoy XUV in there, I was thinking I could swap out the Vue Red-Line for a 2004 Ion Red-Line 5-speed manual and save a couple bucks while gaining some speed.
  10. 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbo $10k 2010 Pontiac Solstice GXP $15k 2006 Saturn Vue Red-Line $8k 1995 Oldsmobile Silhouette 3800 - $4,000 2008 Buick Lacrosse Super - $10,000 2004 Cadillac CTS-V - $15k 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero V6 2.8 Turbo -$8k 2005 GMC Envoy XUV $10k - Covers me for truck and SUV ;-) $80k on the nose assuming I find a '95 Olds Van that is still worth $4k
  11. Moves many??? The majority of Malibus I see daily are LTZs. Quite honestly as many Malibus that I see in Balto/Washington I'd swear it was outselling the Camry LTZs yes, but not $34k LTZs with every box checked.
  12. Hyper, I'm trying to figure out why you think the Malibu will be $30k - $40k? That's the Regal's territory. I've already been told by GM people that the Malibu will not be increasing in price in any significant way, so that means it will be starting in the 22k range. The most expensive Malibu LTZ I can build is $34k and I doubt Chevy moves many. There is basically no "Mercedes" left in the LX platform. Everything has been swapped out.
  13. I could totally dig an Impala on Alpha with the current styling and interior. Keep the engine lineup the same and add the LT1 for an RS model and police consumption.
  14. AWD is Buick's job... I hope.
  15. If you're going to do that, at least let me download engine sounds like I can ringtones. I want my car to sound like the warp core from the Enterprise..... or maybe the just restored N&W 611 Class-J.
  16. I guess what I'm asking is why I'm not getting what that graph is advertising at the given RPM. If the engine is rated for X torque at X rpm, but you'll only X * 0.50 torque at that RPM due to engine tuning, is that not a false rating?
  17. Actually, it would probably be smoother than a V8 and with stump ripping thrust. Oh I am sure it will be smoother than a V8, and get better gas mileage, but a V8 is just charismatic. There is something more exciting about a V8. Imagine a Corvette with a silky smooth, no vibration 450 hp inline six and no V8. Yes it would be smooth and quiet, but probably not as exciting. You have a point, but the personality of the engine should match the personality of the car. I see the E-Class as something that should deliver effortless power as silent and smoothly as possible. Naturally, the Corvette should have a different feel.
  18. Actually, it would probably be smoother than a V8 and with stump ripping thrust.
  19. Lol am I talking to myself? It's the tune!! Tune, tune, tune! Give me 1 hour with an Enclave and it'll probably be able to do a burnout. You know, in case you want to lay down a patch when taking the kids to soccer practice. These cars are set up to pull timing for like 5 different reasons, it's asinine. Has nothing to do with gearing. The transverse V6 cars all have the same transmission as me, the Lambdas even have a more aggressive final drive ratio. I'm confused because your tune youre talking about transmission tuning correct? Not a tune for more power..right? Also, 265tq isn't anything special in a 3 row SUV..so yes a lack of torque still, imo. The debate is whether GM's 3.6L DI motors are peaky. It's a sensation caused by the powertrain tune, both the engine and transmission. The graph isn't incorrect, I simply didn't think it was necessary to post multiple graphs for each iteration of the V6 and each vehicle application. The Lambdas have a tune with 270 lb-ft with a similarly flat torque curve. 90% of torque is available from like 2000 rpm to 6000 rpm. I'm asking honestly here. Were does that 243lb-ft (270 * 0.90) go due to tuning?
  20. Gearing maybe then? It just feels like I have to spin the hell out of the engine to get anywhere.
  21. I fully expect you to go on a long rant against Benz when the new E-class comes with a 4-cylinder standard.... but I'm sure to you it will just be the bee-knees since they do no wrong. Stop making excuses for the Germans doing things that you diss Cadillac for doing.
  22. Doesn't matter. MB, BMW, and Audi all love 4-cylinder turbos and have a higher percentage of their models available with a turbo-4.
  23. BMW loves turbo-4s. 1-series 2-series 3-series 4-series 5-series 7-series (Coming Soon, See your BMW Dealer for details!) X1 X3 X4 Z4 Audi loves turbo I-4s A1 A3 A4 A5 A6 Allroad Q3 Q5 TT Mercedes-Benz loves turbo I-4s A-Class B-Class CLA GLA C-Class GLC E-Class (Coming soon! European model shown. See your Mercedes-Benz dealer for details!) SLK So.... I really don't see your point against Cadillac.
  24. He does have a point. You have really spin up the rpm in the 3.6 in the lambdas to get to that torque. That hurts fuel economy and makes them feel a little sluggish. That's more to do with the throttle calibration than the actual torque. This applies to a bunch of GM vehicles. Soon as the throttle is adjusted by a matter of 10%... the issue of needing to up the RPMs seems to diminish Throttle tip in (how hard you have to push the pedal to get a reply from the engine) is much different than the torque curve, and changing that does not change the fact that you still have to spin the engine to a higher RPM to get the torque, it just means you move your foot a little less to do it. It still kills fuel economy and changing the throttle tip in only makes it easier.
