  1. you can basically order an entire vehicle of these from catalog...
  2. I have to say, I sat in a pre-production SS and the interior is very impressive for a Chevy. Very lux sport.
  3. 305 lb-ft at what RPM? If it's like the 3.0 and produces its peak torque at red line, it won't fly.
  4. I thought the Subie sold already... or was that another one?
  5. yoi! that dashboard!
  6. A 4-cylinder is in the Equinox/Terrain now and it makes up the majority of sales in those models. After shedding 500+ lbs and adding a Turbo-4, why wouldn't a 4-cylinder be enough? The 2.0t already makes better power than the 3.0V6 did.
  7. The top end Cadillac is on Alpha for 2014 and sigma for 2013.... get your facts straight.
  8. Physically smaller on the outside doesn't have to translate to physically smaller on the inside. Whether or not you like its looks, the Encore is a perfect example of this. It is way smaller on the outside than the Tiguan or Escape, but in terms of passenger space, it feels within spitting distance of those two. The next 'Nox will take this same tactic: shrink a lot on the outside while keeping interior room as close to the present vehicle as possible and shedding weight in the process. DO NOT expect the V6 to return, part of the weight saving and packaging saving process accounts for only have 4-cylinder engines. besides.. it is going to be on a variant of the Delta platform... no V6es in sight there.
  9. your guess is as good as mine... but if Reuss wants it to be special, my guess is that it won't be on Epsilon II...
  10. well that's the dumb dealers fault... not the fault of the production line
  11. Truck buyers are much more brand loyal than car buyers. GM may not be able to get Chevy buyer that want a high-zoot truck to go to the GMC dealership.
  12. There was ever a fire sale of the GTO?
  13. They aren't using the Riviera name over and over on Concepts for no reason...
  14. I'm hoping the next SRX is on Alpha... not because I favor RWD over FWD (clearly I don't, and I don't feel it is a requirement for this segment), but because of lightness and advancement and flexibility in that platform.
  15. Lincoln Mark VIIIs.
  16. Do the savings in fuel costs add up to a net cost reduction in automotive expenses for you?
  17. These are still on my radar.... the previous model... but still.
  18. The real benefits of CNG (and indeed, even Ethanol) would be realized if there were engines built specifically for the fuel rather than modifying gasoline engines. What good is 130 Octane in an engine running 8.5:1 compression ratio when plain old 87 Octane will do just fine? Running super high compression ratios with these fuels would allow for much more complete use of the fuel even though there is less energy per unit of fuel. Instead of trying to run E85 through low compression 3.4 liter Impalas, they should have been running E85 as the preferred fuel through super high compression (12+:1 compression) 2.5 liter Impalas. It would have allowed for the same horsepower as the 3.4 liter but removed the perceived MPG penalty we associate with Ethanol today. This was the giant misstep of Ethanol... not taking advantage of it's inherent gifts. Any future alternative fuel that aims to run through standard engines built for gasoline is doomed to the same fate.... including CNG.
  19. I'm starting to see more of them out there... from the back, they are very eye catching.
  20. Yet. Looking at take rates for diesel vehicles where the option isn't a huge price jump and diesels are very well accepted.
  21. My experiences with the SRX have been initial disappointment followed by a quick warm up and appriciation for it.
  22. I still say the 3.6 in the LaX and Cadillacs and Lambdas is just fine thanks. I don't find it unrefined at all. It is a lot less of a growler than the VQ. I've recently had a pathfinder and JX (both rentals) and while I was on the highway I really wanted to shout "OH ENOUGH ALREADY!" at the constant growl of their engines.
  23. Well there are two new rides coming.... we'll see what they end up being I guess.
  24. We'll sell it privately. I will be buying a new (to me) car in June/July time frame. Then we'll sell the CR-V and use the cash from that plus an additional down payment on a replacement... probably an Encore. $978 installed for the throttle body... best price I can find on an aftermarket part is about $450.
