  1. I could see the 6.1... but the 5.7 being that much?
  2. Last I looked, the Expedition XL and Suburban were still in production. Don't blame the government for GM's miss-handling of platforms...
  3. You had the 5 liter Inline 6, no? It's basically a tractor engine and can tow anything.... the weak spot is the rear diff.... which my dad blows up every once in a while.
  4. Found a 2007 Hemi with Nav, Climate Control, and leather, 57k miles... but the $18k asking price seems too high to me. Are these cult status or something?
  5. It's on my shopping list for the moment. I know I want to avoid the 2.7... anything else I want to watch out for?
  6. Taurus is going 4-banger post haste.. Watch the political stuff...
  7. GM moved on from timing belts in V6es after 1995... as long as you don't count the Cadillac Catera with that weird Opel engine. The only other modern GM V6 with a timing belt was the Saturn Vue.... but woops that was a Honda V6!
  8. Yes, I have. Part alone is about $400. But I did some digging and I might be able to fix our current throttle body. Yes, this is the 2004 CR-V. I think 50% of my frustration is with the car and the other 50% with the incompetent dealer.
  9. You're thinking Malibu that will be "baby Impala"
  10. would have been easier if they hadn't laid an egg with the Malibu...
  11. All the personality of a Honda Legend with all the reliability of an 80's British car..... no thanks.
  12. Sure.. blame crossovers and not Kia, Hyundai, Ford, and VW.
  13. always appeal a denial
  14. The limitation you're seeing is purely power train related and nothing to do with the frame or weight. Simply opt up to the 5.3 V8 in the W/T (which also puts you into the 6-speed rather than 4-speed auto) with a 3.08 rear end and you can have 7400lbs. trailering or 9100lbs. with 3.42 rear end.
  15. The 4.3 has balance shafts... it's probably about equal.
  16. SD card I thought
  17. how long before that crank weld goes?
  18. Would have helped if they weren't so ugly....
  19. Pipe on the end of the breaker bar to make a longer breaker bar or maybe... buy a bowflex..
  20. Let the PB soaaaak a while. Re-apply if it even looks even a tiny bit dry.
  21. Shh... he doesn't start itching to trade until after the first oil change.
  22. So.. .about 7.9 cents per mile for fuel.
  23. I'm not sure you'd want to do a high end sports coupe like the GT on a platform built for a hulking brute of a sedan... but that's just me.
  24. "The 2.0 does not make better power than the 3.0 in the trim we will see but it does have lower end torque and the curve is flat as Bonneville." - To me... that is better power, especially in an SUV. Even in its lowest spec, the 2.0T makes 260 ft-lbs starting from 2000 rpm. The 3.0 makes a mere 217 ft-lb and doesn't reach peak torque till red-line.... what's the point of that? There is almost no point on the torque curves where the V6 is putting out more twist than the Turbo-4. "Better power" is not a measure of absolute horsepower and torque, but also how those are delivered.
