  1. I know it was the supplier, I was just playing around. This seemed like one of those threads that, if I didn't come in and say something retarded, it would die with only one response. And how un-coll is that? All threads deserve a reply or two, and when I saw what you said about the 500, I jumped in.
  2. I suck at bowling, doubt I could get into the PBA.
  3. My favorite tool is a hammer.
  4. Nissan ads tell me that I can get an Altima for $175month with $1500 down or that I can get a Titan for $275/month. Toyota has a reputation for building good cars. Gm needs to build a similar reputation by actually building good cars.
  5. Buickman is saying that. I wouldn't say Tiger was a really bad move, maybe keeping him so long wasn't a good move, but Martha was pretty bad. That money could have been spent on advertising that had more broad of an appeal, or on making cars worth advertising.
  6. So more ads are the answer? What is the content of these advertisments? Or are you just hoping to wear people down, get them tired of hearing it so they give in and buy a GM? The "Annoy them Into Cooperation" method sometimes gets women into bed, but it doesn't get someone to buy a car.
  7. Car salesmen are the scum of the earth, why the hell would any company want to listen to the ideas a salesman has about improving the company? Especially when things like bad UAW contracts and retiree payouts and flat out sub-par cars aren't taken into acocunt. Can we PLEASE get Evok in here to rip this guys schtick to shreds again, I really like reading that. Effective marketing ony helps if it is for something people want to buy. Spending hundreds of millions of dollars on marketing wont do a goddamn thing if the cars being marketed aren't very good. You could have the most well laid out ad campaign, the most charming, convincing salesmen and all the crap you suggest, but it doesn't mean a thing if there is a better car for sale at the same price next door. Right now people are cheap and GM cars are, for the most part, not as good as the competitions, so incentives are the only way to move them to non-GM die-hards.
  8. A couple hundred bucks, Webasto sells one in the aftermarket, I'm sure other companies do as well. Look around online.
  9. The F-bodies were like 150,000 sales, we definately need those back, they'll solve all of GM's problems.
  10. The motive behind the "Please explain if you cannot give (whatever the top score is) as a score" or the giant orange "You will receive a survey please mark it completely satisfied" sticker I had on some stuff from Saturn is that if the experience is less than perfect they want to know why before you go and send something in that could effect their performance reviews. They do want the customer's experience to be good, but only because that increases the liklihood of the customer returning.
  11. After spending time at an Acura dealership this weekend (where I bought my car) I'd have to say that, if I were in the market, the TL and CTS would be neck and neck. The CTS' interior is a bit on the cheap and ugly side for me, but the TL has as many freaking buttons as an '02 Bonneville. Not cool. The salesman agreed with me on the too many buttons thing, he said it is a pain in the ass taking 2-3 hours (in some cases) to train customers how to do simple things in their new cars.
  12. No, it doesn't really deserve a commercial, most of the population lives where it will snow sometime. All people really need to do is think to themselves, "Heated washer fluid. It doesn't snow here, I just get cat-sized mosquitos running into my car. Hey! Maybe that stuff will help remove the bug gunk!" It would also help if salespeople pointed this out to perspective car buyers in the hot 'n humid south.
  13. Its good to know you'll be safe when your gas tank falls out. :P  :D
  14. As someone pointed out months ago, heated washer fluid will also make dead bug removal easier, so people in warmer climates will benefit.
  15. First gen CR-Vs were in my price range, and were pretty appealing, but not easy to find around here. A Rav4 would have done ok too, again impossible to find. I could have stretched and gotten an Element, but figured that I wouldn't want to be driving it 4-5 years from now, so I might as well jump on something a little more "adult." Honestly, I haven't tried my bike rack on the car yet, I've been running around in it all day, but it should fit with a few adjustments. Mini-Lexus is right, it is so smooth and quiet, silent and vault-like compared to the L, it moves quickly enough and handles pretty well considering the tires are pretty wussy. The only problem with it is the grille, which is really crappy looking, as you can see in that pic. It'll be replaced eventually. The next part of my plan is to put an Acura emblem on every Camaro ever made.
  16. Dammit NOS, you just cant keep from saying things that cause me to say things. Like, in response to : I can say, "New or used?"
  17. Thanks. I forgot to mention the stereo, stock JBL system, it kicks ass. Better than the Infiniti we have on the Sebring, and thats the only good thing about that damned 'vert.
  18. When I had one, I just drove it, occasionally used it to haul things and run things over. Basically it was just sucking gas. plus it was carbureted, that means it was evil.
  19. Whichever way you end up going, just make sure you dont end up sleeping with somebody you work with while at the same time dating someone your friends set you up with. This is so not going to end well for me. At least I have a new car for whoever I end up screwing over to scratch. See, I can blabber too.
  20. Its a coupe and it blew away the other cars I test drove. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. The Saturn was in for the taillight recall, I was wandering around the used lot and started talking to a salesman. I told him that I wasn't actively looking for a new car but if something good came along, I would jump on it, since I was kind of tired of the noisy, cheap Saturn. I told him my price range, he had '98 4Runner, a '96 Camry, the '00 Solara I bought, an '01 Eclipse, an '02 RSX a '98 325i (the last two were a little more than I wanted to spend) and an '01 Monte Carlo SS. I took the Eclipse for a spin (I've driven one before) followed by the Solara and the 325 and the MC. The Solara is in great shape and it is one hell of a car. I decided to switch insurance companies, I got a few similar quotes so I did what any guy would do, I went with the company that had the hottest woman working in the office. Yay me! And there was no castration involved anywhere in the process.
  21. Pretty much....its red, tan interior, V6, auto, I might post some pics later. Let the bash fest begin, but for a few bucks more per month than my Saturn this car is worlds ahead of it in every category possible.
  22. close....nix the sedan, add another suffix
  23. I'll get pics later, but lets say you're all going to hat me. 2000 _o____ __m__ ___a__ S_ _6 Guess
  24. Keep It Simple Stupid I kind of like the way Mini does it, two trims, Cooper and Cooper S, main difference is the supercharged engine. Options can be bought as part of a package or individually, even the sport suspension can be added to a base car without having to get the sport seats, stability control, etc. One or two (base and SS like Z suggested?) trims with a number of options seems like a good comprimise. None of this 1LT, 2LT, 1LS, LS, LT, LTZ bullshit, too much crap to go through to decide which equpiment level is right for you.
