  1. Have you ever thought of getting a mkIV Supra? seems like it would be right up your alley.
  2. Under such a scenario, how much money would go to oil-rich muslim countries that hate America?
  3. Do you have any facts to back that up, or do you just mindlessly accept what other people tell you? 2 threads down from this one is a post about Toyota leading all manufacturers for recalls this year, not exactly a sign of premium quality.
  4. How does that guy have 73 posts?
  5. Has Toyota said it will be branded as a Scion? I have been following this car's development, but it seems like too little, too late.
  6. I have a couple of friends whose parents own Scions and all are at least 50 years old (they love 'em by the way). Toyota makes boring cars, you can't put different sheet metal on a corolla platform and make it exciting. If toyota was serious, they would build a rwd genesis coupe/370z fighter for the brand.
  7. I really hope that by the end of this year, someone will be able to purchase and drive a new Volt.
  8. Setup: '99 FRC Corvette TSP 383 LS6 short-block PRC 215 heads milled to 59cc Torquer 3 camshaft (231/234 .643"/.598" 111 LSA) FAST 92 Intake Manifold 92mm Throttle body Bolt-ons Monster stage 3 clutch and flywheel SAE dyno results with less than 100 miles: I was running a larger cam on stock cubes (346 - 5.7L LS1), and had my fill of the peak power game. Wanted to be able to drive the car more often, more area under the curve, etc... For comparison, stock cubes, magic stick 4 camshaft, prc 215 heads, ls6 intake:
  9. This car will be a home run for GM, can't wait to buy one.
  10. So you think Saudi Arabia is unstable?
  11. I believe that Ciudad Juarez is more dangerous than Baghdad, but they're not muslim, which is a plus.
  12. Obviously this is still in the early phases of discovery, maybe the elephant fields don't pan out: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=120966523&ft=1&f=1001 We'll see what happens.
  13. I'm not sure the author understands Ford's financial situation, I believe the term is "debt up to your eyeballs".
  14. Have any journalists done a profile of Reuss? Is he a true car guy? What kind of cars does he own?
  15. 370's are pathetically underpowered, I've yet to see a fast one in person. No torque. Throw a twin turbo on a c5 and you're looking at 700-800 hp.
  16. Agreed, here are some: http://araoengineering.com/LSX.htm
  17. Caddy XLR-V, from reading your comments, it seems that you don't understand the concept of external displacement, how much physical space an engine occupies. Displacement for displacement, a OHV engine takes up much less space than a DOHC engine. see picture: As you can see, the 5.0L OHV engine (internal displacement) is significantly smaller than the 4.6L DOHC (internal displacement) engine. If you had to jam a DOHC engine in a corvette engine bay, it might not fit. If it did fit, it would have much less internal displacement, like 3.0L. OHV engines allow more internal displacement for a given volume of engine bay.
  18. And awesomeness. I will gladly take technology when it makes things better. I'm all for direct injection for the gen IV small blocks, but I'm not sold with what I've seen so far with VVT. If it makes things better then let's do it, but some people in this thread want technology for technology's sake.
  19. I love to watch any team from Boston lose.
  20. Great story, good to hear nice things like that.
  21. I thought we already did this thread. There are 2 members on here (smk4565 and hyperv6) that think the Corvette needs a bunch of un-necessary tech, expense, and weight, while everybody else loves the small block architecture. Dwightlooi: Why have you started a new thread about the same topic? http://www.cheersandgears.com/index.php/topic/40869-which-engine-for-the-c7-corvette/
  22. looks like grand theft auto 4 with better ballistics.
