The Highlander looks pretty awful. It's like a bigger Rav4, but with some random ugliness thrown in for excitement. I don't think Toyota ripped off the interior design from Honda though... And just for comparison:

I don't understand the point of these showcars. It just makes the real thing disappointing. As for the car itself, it looks decent but not very exciting. It will do its job for a few years.

It looks nice enough on the outside, but the interior looks cluttered and the contols look very difficult to use.

This car is pretty awful. It weighs soooo much, the doors do not go back far enough to get to the back seats, and the engine is woefully underpowered.

Why should Volvo, Land Rover, Aston, and Mazda disappear? They sell well and have some allure to them, except for Mazda which is highly regarded. Ford should cut Lincoln and Mercury before Volvo.
