  1. GM is in the process of restructuring all of the trim levels. And if any vehicle needed it, the Impala was one. The Implala was the only Chevy in which the LS was the top trim level, everything else had an LT trim. Secondly the newly repackaged vehicles have very few stand-alone or free-flow options. This makes it easier to order the vehicles and have what the customer wants. You come in and ask for a list of options and that will put you in a specific trim. The biggest problem is not having the right color. Honda has been doing this for years. Take the Civic EX.....comes standard with power windows, locks, sunroof, and the later years alloy wheels. Another example is the Accord EX or EX-L.....same as Civic but with or without leather. It just makes ordering and having what the customer want a lot easier. You never really have to worry about the car you're looking at having everything that you want except for two options........except for stuff like XM radio, a Sunroof, Polished wheels, 6-Disc......

:o I completely forgot. I know that someone has got to have the pictures. When they released the Tahoe, C&G had it out before GM had posted it on their Chevy Launch website so if history is any proof, this being the day before, SOMEONE should have the pictures. <_<
  3. First off  Z06 the race that i cant wait to see is next season at Miller Motorsports Park. The front straight is 3,550 ft  and its 4.5 miles long
  4. The answer to your question about the SS question is this, the wood grain package is an option and the "techno-metallic" trim is standard. the reason for this option is mainly for interior coordination. The SS Impala is available in Black, White, Silverstone(aka SILVER), Laser Blue(aka Purpleish-Blue), and Sport Red(aka BURGUNDY). The Gray, Ebony, and Tan interior are available. So if a person wanted to order a Sport Red with the tan interior then, in my opinion, the wood grain would be the better trim. As where if it were a Black with the Ebony interior the metallic trim would be more at home. The 3LT vs. the LTZ answer is this, for the most part the 3LT and the LTZ are the same package except for a few options. The major difference is the LTZ is not available in cloth. So basically the 3LT is the cloth version of the LTZ. On the flip side of this though, it is possible to order a 3LT with leather. For what reason   a crazy inventory manager would order a loaded up 3LT instead of a LTZ, I do not know.
  5. As a Chevrolet salesman, the biggest complaint is the ride and the powertrain. The ride is just too bouncy across the suspension packages and though it does have 220 HP, in today's day and age that doesn't even sound like enough. Another thing is the price: a fully loaded crew cab Z71 can, correction: could (forgot about the new "value pricing") get really close $to 33,000
  6. [quote name='91z4me' date='Sep 27 2005, 06:11 AM'] I think GMNA wanted a smaller truck so people could step up into the bigger GMT800 if they needed to tow anything large. More profit in the 800s than the 360s. That's the exact thinking that got GM into the problem they are in now. Why don't they start looking ahead. they tend to show up late to the party wearing everyone else's dress. Instead of showing up doing what everyone else is doing they need to: 1) Learn to go just one step further. (not too far to be unable to adjust to the times/demand) 2) Just do it better than anyone else. 3) Do it right the first time. That's it ...... COME ON GM!! "YOU CAAN DOOOOO IIIIIIIIIIIT" - Waterboy
  7. the front end, though you can't exactly see it, looks very close to the Tahoe. It doesn't look any more "aggressive" than the Tahoe. I thought that the front end on the Avalanche and the Silverado were going to be similar but different from the Tahoe. When they said different, I thought that meant that just by looking at the front of the two (Avalanche/Silverado vs. Tahoe) you would be able to definitively tell what you were looking at.
  8. hey Josh did it say or show anything about a coupe........
  9. Is this to lead us to believe that the posted pics of the Avalanche that were posted a while back were not the real deal........
  10. Quick question NOS : ZO6 or Viper?
  11. I thought this to be a change for the guys over at Car and Driver: a favorable write up from a GM product http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?se...article_id=9991
  12. A Bilstein sport suspension..........A Bilstein sport suspension................. A Bilstein sport suspension........ Thats it???????????? they add Spec. B to the name and only add A Bilstein sport suspension..... WTF This is what they need to bring over........ http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp/LEGACY/
  13. after looking at the vehicles and their classes/competitors, did anyone notice or know why the WRX is included in the GS class instead of the ST class. I mean i understand that the WRX STI is a very capable car but this is just the WRX, right? I just think it to be weird that the SRT-4, SS Coblat, Mazdaspeed Protege, IS300, and even the A4 (NOT the S4), are all in the class but the WRX is up there fighting with the BIG V-8s. and on another note...... for the other race programs in Europe, (Opel/Vauxhall) were they running forced induction?
  14. has anyone seen any pics of the Escalade? does anyone know when the official release date is for the big Caddy?
  15. that center console trim piece...... is that supposed to be reserved for the LTZ package, and the picture of the interior with the black plastic instert an LT package with leather interior?
  16. correction: make that near the end of Northstar's post
  17. the interior shots are on the first page and scroll down through the press info and half way through Northstar's post
  18. Did anyone notice the difference in the center console trim piece in the interior shots? I hope that GM doesn't try to skimp on this the interior has a lot richer feel and look with this sim-wood insert.
  19. working as a salesman at a Chevy dealership i can say first hand that the HHR has been impossible to keep in stock. the first one that we got in lasted 2 hours (silver LS). the second one (black LT - loaded) our owner tried to hold on to it so people could at least see it so they marked it "NOT FOR SALE" and a customer paid $1500.00 over sticker..............
  20. If GM does decide to make a EVO/STi fighter then they had better pay attention to what the competion has done and what system they have in place. There is a reason that these cars can ask their $30,000 price tags and still be called a "performance value". I mean GM has the potential as far as the engine is concerned as their Grand Am Cup and Drag racing efforts show. But developing a reliable AWD system that has the technological advancements of the EVO and theSTi, which have been groomed by the "take-no-prisoner" WRC circut, will be a great feat in itself. But if Gm would like to make a statement that the Cobalt is up to the standards of the hard pounding, completely abusive, and rigorous (check spelling) ins and outs of a proven WRC rally car then I say go ahead GM.
  21. Chevrolet has reclassified the Impala as a mid-sized car. Another thing is the size of the car feel a lot smaller than last years even though the specs don't show that much of a change. But one thing is for sure the SS hauls...... not to mention how good the exhaust sounds.
  22. Just the simple thought that there could be something out there that could go faster than the Z06 makes me light-headed. To GM I say build the Blue Devil. Just give us a heads up, so we can all make sure the insurance is paid up.
  23. was it just me or did C&D trash every other make, and then dismiss the issues with the 3 series and score it #1  Just a little question for thought: Why would a "professional, non-bias, and respectable" automotive mag, perform a comparison/peformance test in the desert in anywhere from 98-116 degree heat and then find it strange that the perfomance figures weren't that different?
  24. "We broke all the rules developing this car," .... It's about time. For decades, GM's own rules -- risk-analysis calculations that squeezed the emotion out of its cars -- were its worst enemy. It's time to throw the rule book out. Now if the engineers can do this with the rest of their vehicles the General might just make it back in command.
