  1. I don't think Daewoo have made its own engine as far as I know. I think they've been using GMs engine all through this time since they have always been owned partially by GM from the day 1 of the company's birth in my knowledge(although I may be wrong). Of course, they been using the design of Europe's Opel Rekord and some other models, modified it, and sold the cars under the model name Royale series in Korea in the 80's. The Koreans are just starting to design and make their own engine just recently. Hyundai and its child company Kia is using the engines that were made my Hyundai these days which are like the only companies that are using their own engine designed in home. It's not until the late 90's(I think) that Hyundai made it's own engines. Until then, Hyundai's used the licensed Mitsubishi engine, and Kia's used the licensed Mazda engines, since by then, Kia was owned partially by Mazda. Now defunct Ssangyong(which was purchased by Chinese company) was using licensed Mercedes Benz engine, and Samsung is using the Renault engine, Proto Motors, which is the newest company in Korea speciallizing low volume sports cars are using Ford's V8. I am not so sure about Daewoo's, but I don't think it's the Daewoo made engine. I am pretty sure it's by GM. Although I may be wrong.
  2. I am sure Audi will be pretty happy with Cheverolet/Daewoo stealing their grill design(it IS still based on Kalos right? or am I wrong?). I was never a fan of Aveo to begin with, but I must say this looks a bit better than the previous versions. Well, I am more into the big American muscle, pretty much only for Pontiac and some dodge, even though I am a Korean American. Only Korean car I like is the Proto Spirra. But this chevy I think, have some potential.
  3. I know, but as I have said, this was originally intended as Chevrolet Aveo, but I could not post it there since it was closed for posting, so I just enterred it as HHR instead. I don't care if it gets 0 points since this is only for fun, and since I don't know and don't care about Chevys to begin with. I just like to draw that's all, but I didn't really get a chance to draw the HHR due to my busy work schedule. But, Thanx. If there ever going to be a contest for any pontiacs, I have some old drawings of mine that I can enter. Such as T-1000, which I have drawn the front like this, and the back view, which isn't great, but....
  4. No, it's not a hatchback. It is meant to be a sedan. I've studied some of the drawings that are included in the magazines like Motor Trend, and others, and it seems like the rear, they tend to draw it small to make it more balanced in looks, so that's what I did. I know, making the pics not squished is one area that I am having trouble with. It never come out right as I intended, oh well....
  5. Actually, this was originally intended for Daewoo Kalos/Chevrolet Aveo that I recently drawn, but since I'm new here, and I found out the contest for the Aveo has already been closed so I am putting this as the HHR, since I personally hate, and don't care about Chevrolets to begin with. I am nowhere near as good as most of you in drawing but I tried. I don't care if it gets 0 points, but it's only for fun, for I love drawing cars. It's got no colors, it's just a lousy sketch of mine, but enjoy. Most of the drawings I've done heavily focuses on Pontiacs so.... The ones I've done are Fiero, Firebird, Grand Prix, Sunfire, T1000, and so and so. I have also drawn my version of PT Cruiser a while back, but I hated it, so I destroyed it. I know I suck, but enjoy and laugh all you want at it. No, I don't have any other angles, for I suck in drawing the back.
  6. Hey, I am currently in the market for 08 Grand Prix, and I know the Pontiac.com is screwed up. A few days ago, me and my buddy was building my car, and for about $24,925, it had leather, sunroof, fog lights, and ABS included, but the next day, when I build it again, that price never showed with any interior listed, the next day, Leather changed to cloth, talk about inconsistancies. Well, I don't care much about the G8 so....
  7. Well, I certainly hope not. To me, GM is making another mistake for killing the quality car for a stupid looking Aussie car. I don't care about the engine. The look should also follow. The engine is nothing if the look can't match it. They already killed the firebird which was a stupid mistake, not they are killing Grand Prix? the one they've used in the NASCAR circuit for a looong time? I know I may be the only one, but I personally hate the new G8's look, especially its horrendous interior. Why can't they just update the styling and engine for the Grand Prix, not killing it, bring the new car for 09 while keeping the G8 as planned, and bring the G8 as the replacement for Bonneville. To me, the model that they really should kill is Vibe, not the Grand Prix. Vibe is not really an American car, and I personally hate Toyota. It is just nothing more than a reskinned Toyota using the same Toyota engine and the same Toyota interior. About the only models they should kill is the Vibe and the G5 unless they stop with the rebadged Chevy Cobalt which is a crap, and give it the fresh new look that is sportier like Sunfire was to differentiate with the stupid Chevy sibling. I knew Mr. Luts is a pontiac hater and GM only favors their little baby Chevy's stupid looking cars, but this is too much. They are bringing back the camaro, so they should bring back Firebird as well, not some stupid re-badged crap, but a completely different design even if they are going to use the same engine. If Camaro comes back, so should the Firebird. Camaro without Firebird is ridiculous. Sorry, if any of you are offended by my remarks above. I just hate Chevys Period, for getting all the un-deserved attention by GM.
  8. I personally think the G8 that the site: http://www.gminsidenews.com/naias/revitalization/pontiacria/ has are far better looking and I hope that is the kind of styling it will have. The pics that is widely availiable such as the ones that are posted here are just simply downright ugly. I still don't like the look of the G8, even the one that the above link has and prefer the former Bonneville 100 times more, and I absolutely hate the current GTO like interior that the G8 has, but oh well.....
  9. I am not sure if any of you heard or seen this, but this site has some concept pics of the upcomming Buicks and Pontiacs. I am not sure if these are real, but according to what they have wrote, it seems believable. I just hope my next car that I am going to get on this December(08 Grand Prix) as my third car won't get killed after 08 model year. I personally think it is a capable car that can do much if GM can update its styling and mechanics. The current car only started in 2004, and to me, it is too early to kill it. I hope the site that I am including the link is telling the truth saying the G8(which I think is downright ugly) is in fact the replacement for Bonneville(which I prefer), and not for the Grand Prix, which I recently seen in the dealer, and fell in love with. http://www.gminsidenews.com/naias/revitalization/pontiacria/
