I vote for the car I am getting next month. The 08 Grand Prix. Hey, 200HP..... . Also, it isn't the NEWEST model, so you don't have to worry about so called, 'the first year model errors'.
-
Yuk, honestly, I hate it. Not a fan of Japanese to begin with, but I think the previous one looked a lot better, more unique, had more personality, and cuter, though I don't like small cars. The interior is ugly as well. To me, it lost chunks of its personality and it looks like a previouse generation Civic(don't know the name of the variation, but you know, the hatchback thing) which was NEVER one of my favorite. The rear kinda look like it was taken from the current generation Kia Rio5, which isn't good at all. I hate it. I am pretty sure I'm the only one but.... I would rather take the smaller, Yaris over this which looks.... MORE UNIQUE.

Though I am going to replace mine soon, I also happened to have the same car. Well, though the name is different since mine is an older model that was replaced by G6. The Grandam. Though I had an accident with it(I had nowhere to go, the girl in front of me hit the girl in front of her, in a 3 way accident, in a very busy highway), it's still running like new even though it is now an 8 year old car with 81,000 miles on it. I had ABSOLUTELY NO problems whatsoever, though it needs the transmission gasket to be replaced soon. I LOVE Pontiacs. Though after 2008 model year, I may have to walk out since they are killing all the good North American made models with less than stellar looking imports and screwing up Pontiac. Shame but. Good luck with your new G6, my fellow Pontiac owner. I think the G6 is the most popular model like Grandam was, since every dealer I go to, they have more G6 than any other models. The largest dealer I went to, actually had a whole lot filled with G6, around 20 or 30 of them . I couldn't even find any other models there, until I asked the salesperson who led us on the back where there were even more G6s and a few Torrents, Solstice, and only 2 Grand Prixs, which were both GXP that isn't the model I am shopping for. Many enjoyable, troublefree miles for you, fellow Pontiac Lover.

This may also get buried somewhere in the back as most of my threads did, but I decided to post it anyway. I have already posted this on my site yesterday, but I thought I would share it here as well. Here is an interesting article I found from the net. Now, it seems Ferrari wants to introduce and jump into the SUV segment. Here is the article that you can read in entirely. http://sportscarsfans.blogspot.com/2007/11/ferrari-suv.html

The Korean language Genesis web-site: http://www.the-genesis.co.kr Everything is in Korean but enjoy. They say they made the car to surpass the German best. I laughed my brains out. I don't think it will sell in N.A since it is nothing more than a rip-off. Maybe a few Korean people who just want to upgrade a little from their current Azeras or any Korean Americans who feesl it's helping the Korean economy by buying Korean, but other than that, I can't picture any Americans will go buy this knockoff and pay that hefty amount of money for an un-proven so called LUXURY car from cheap car maker.

According to this new article(dated yesterday), Chery, the Chinese Automaker, seems to have shifted their goal from exporting their cars to the US to Southeast Asia instead. I guess they didn't want to improve their cars to meet US regulations and target the less important market first. That, and other Chery news can be found here: http://www.chinacartimes.com/category/chery-automobile/ Sure, it's only talking about Cheris, but we may see other Chinese brand making it to the US. You never know.

I promise, this will be the last spamming from me posting of all that spy shot craps. Yet another old news I digged from the net. This one is from Audi. The 2011 A7. http://blog.pixnet.net/jackieyang/post/9376358 The site is the Chinese site, but the article is in English so you can read about it. I just wanted to share them. I thought these were just too good the news to be just posted on my site only. Though they are old. I will be keep on hunting for the spy shots, but unless I get a go to post them here, this will be the last time I flood this site with all these pointless spy shot junks. Enjoy.

Well, I don't really care about big engines, since the price of the gas right now is like...... Though it's nice to have a big, roaring muscle under your hood, part of the reason the V8 GXP of Grand Prix is out of my reach, that costs a lot more as well. I like the V6 version anyway, and it's cheaper so that is the one I am getting, I like the size, the style and everything that is far superior than that stupid looking Aussie made G8 they replacing with next year. As for the Charger, I also thought it only had over 3 litre engine, since I always thought Charger means muscle, nothing else. I didn't even know if it had 2.7 even on the 07 model, but I think, if you like the car and can get it cheap, I'd say go for it. I mean, if you are really in the market for a new car that you must HAVE to have it. What am I saying? I was so set on Grand Prix, so I didn't even care about other brands, but I can say this one thing. To avoid Ford dealers at all costs. About all the Ford dealers I went to just to look around, the salespeople there are just plain suckers. I know I am being biased and I know not ALL of them will be like that, but most of the Ford Dealers I went to in Northern New Jersey, the Salespeople trys to trick you(and you can tell right off the bat) to buy a car that you are not really interested in, and tries to make you jump in to deal by kinda pressuring you in a way. I don't know how to say it, but it isn't really the kind of experience you liked to be in. Sure few of the Pontiac Dealers were like that, tried to suck you in, but Ford dealers were the worst for me. Don't know about Dodge, since only Chrysler division dealers we(me and my buddy) went to, to look around was a Jeep. Just out of curiosity. I've seen from a lot of magazines and stuff, that you should focus more on the price of the car rather than thinking about monthly payment first. Since the Dealers can easily manipulate the numbers and secretly raise the price of the car and modify some numbers so that it looks like you are getting a great deal. Is that true? I am also in the market for a new car so I need as much help and tips as possible. The Chargers are really the great looking cars and I esp. love the size, but so far, nothing comes close to my liking than the last breed of Grand Prix.

Head-on collision between Datsun & BMW...
Diehard GrandPrix Fan replied to Sixty8panther's topic in The Lounge
I'm so sorry. Glad that you are OK. I know how you feel because I've been into about 3 Accidents until now. 2 with my very first car('92 Sunbird. Once, where I hit the on-comming bus, even so, the car moved and engine had no damage, the front part got totalled, and once getting hit by this guy who ignored the stop sign), and once in my current 99 Grandam(where I had nowhere to go since the girl in front of me hit the girl in front of her in the very busy highway). Though I managed to walk out un-scathed on all occasions. I wish the speedy recovery for you and I hope you get better soon. It sucks that this kinda accident actually happend on these great holiday season, well, any accidents should never happen in the first place but, some crazy drivers just never learn. God Bless. -
Pretty old news, but here is the link to the 2012 BMW 3 Series. http://www.autospies.com/news/2012-BMW-3-S...-Concept-15473/

Apparently, these guys think there will be Firebirds in 2011 while it was confirmed by Mr. Lutz that there won't be, but, enjoy. http://www.diecastaudio.com/2007/03/14/201...ns-am-revealed/

2009 Kia Borrego caught in every angle.
Diehard GrandPrix Fan replied to Diehard GrandPrix Fan's topic in Kia
Motor Trend Magazine have posted some new infos on the Kia Mohave(Korean)/Borrego(N.A). They are saying that this SUV will start at around mid $20K, and will have an option of V8 that will be used on the upcomming Hyundai Genesis that produces 375 HP. Here is the link that you can click on to read in its entirely: http://www.motortrend.com/future/future_ve...ego_first_look/ Most of you probably have seen it. Not a fan of Hyundai nor Kia but it will be interesting if this will sell in the tough market like North America. -
I know this is really an old video, but decided to post it anyway. I am not sure if anyone posted this before but enjoy. The episode of British automotive magazine/show called 'Top Gear'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W07uwAnboM4 I have put number of the top gear episodes on my site, but I think this was pretty good so I decided to post here as well. Most of you probably have seen it already for it is really old but enjoy.
-
Yet another old vid I found on that famous Youtube. The British did a head-on collision test using the remote controlled BMW and the Volvo while they are speeding. I sure hope these kind of accidents don't happen, it's well.... SCARY!!!!. I know, this is old, so you may have seen it already, but I just posted it here anyway since I don't see anyone else posted it before. If anyone did before, let me know, then I will delete this thread.
-
An old video that has been up on Youtube since 2005, but I didn't see anyone posted it, so I decided to. Most of you probably have seen it. The British did the 70MPH Crash test to arguarably the tiniest, and one of the highly popular cars in the world, Smart. I know it's old, but enjoy.

your TEN BEST LOOKING ASIAN CARS
Diehard GrandPrix Fan replied to regfootball's topic in Site News and Feedback
I know this is an old thread, but I wasn't here when this was up, so. Best 10: 1. Protomotors Spirra 2. Hyundai Pony '74 (Not really pretty, but it IS an antique) 3. Daewoo Prince of the 90's 4. Kia Soul, if concepts count as well 5. Proton Saga(I know, reskined Mirage but, hey, it's Asian) 6. Ssangyong Chairman(True, it's a re-worked Mercedes, but built in Korea) 7. Ssangyong Musso SUT 8. Ssangyong Korando(the one they ALMOST exported to US if they hadn't been sued by Chrysler) 9. ? 10. ? Worst 10: All the Japanese. (No offense, I just don't like them, not even a single one) -
Kia Soul spy vid, caught in action
Diehard GrandPrix Fan replied to Diehard GrandPrix Fan's topic in Kia
Sorry to bump this thread(It got buried), but I found an old article in the web about the concept with tons of pictures, I thought I would share. I am sure most of you seen them, but..... http://www.autoblog.com/2006/01/09/detroit...gets-some-soul/ Not a fan of small car, but I think this is interesting. It may be derivative if you can think of some other cars(I am not sure which cars that this copies), but since Kia confirmed that they will be building it for 2009 model year, I wonder if the American car buyers will be buying this. It's well.... Differnent, in my opinion, and to me, it is the best looking Kia of all the crappy concept they have made. The spy vid shows that the overall shape hasn't changed, but I pray to god that they don't screw it up like Hyundai did with their Genesis trash. I first thought this was SUV, but, since, according to the spy vid, it is slightly taller and bigger than Mini Cooper, I guess this will compete with the likes of Scion xB, or Honda Element, depending on what the price will be. Just wanted to share. Some of the comments on that autoblog were funny. -
Sketch Competition #22 - The Next HHR
Diehard GrandPrix Fan replied to Flybrian's topic in Sketch Competitions
I don't think these contest will start anytime soon, but the heck with it. I am changing mine yet again, to this: Not any better I know, but.... -
The rumor has it that Hyundai and Kia originally planned them for US as well, but later scrap the idea thinking about the price conflict. I think I saw on one of the magazine that actually tested the Kia version that said that it would cost way more to sell that here. I don't know how that will going to be that way since these are just another small cars that will never sell anyway in US, but....
-
Chances are, well, I think, they(Hyundai) will use that very same car, modify it a little bit on the back end and use it as the upcomming Elantra Touring. http://69.89.21.67/~pittsbu4/cheersandgear...showtopic=21448 The link of the thread I made about a week ago that got buried. Well, if you want to go to the link directly, it's: http://jalopnik.com/cars/spy-photos/pre+pr...-guy-321233.php The spy video that has the camo on. and this is the Kia version, the Ceed. (also called X'Ceed I think):

Diehard GrandPrix Fan replied to Northstar's topic in Site News and Feedback
So that means, we will have to re-register, and ALL the threads will be gone. Hmmmm. But, yeah, this server has been really on the un-stable side, so something's got to be done anyway, so.... -
2009 Kia Borrego caught in every angle.
Diehard GrandPrix Fan replied to Diehard GrandPrix Fan's topic in Kia
There is a new CF(Commercial) out for Korea for the Borrego. The translation: (Not sure about the correct spelling for the people listed however) Peter Schreyer.... George Fischer.... Michael Micke.... January 3rd, 2008.... Finally.... The masters of automobiles meet.... Mohave.... It's just a teaser, but I guess the Korean version gets sold in home on January.
