I appears that the 1978 Chrysler Newport and New Yorkers were the last American true pillarless hardtops made.
  2. The little details count and this car should be a proper pillarless hardtop as all coupes should be. GM has to stop cutting corners and make their cars special and American again.
  3. If GM had stayed closer to the original concept vehicle this would have a been a much better looking van. Tweaking of a few details and bigger wheels would make it look much better. But in it's time and in context it wasn't that bad.

I got thinking, what was the last true hardtop made by GM?

    Hardtops make me hard.
  7. This sums it up very nicely: Issue 394, May 2/07 http://www.autoextremist.com/index.shtml
  8. The CTS is a great looking car. I still like the initial introduction in the dark red color best. There is nothing that can help the STS, it's one dull design.
  9. If Saab gets a clone of the Solstice/Sky/Opel GT, GM has finally lost it. They have almost made the Saab brand a complete joke already. With all the silly rebadging of suvs and Subarus. It's become an embarassment.
  10. Can Saab get any lamer than this?! Wow, sand colored top. Saab deathwatch.
  11. This is no Buick Park Avenue. Buick does not need a bland, boring car like this in North America. I hope it never happens here.
  12. Here's a little video... http://www.worldcarfans.com/videos.cfm/cou...riviera-concept
  13. Wow, you have a way of describing the design of a car...very nicely said. I can envision this car on the street and how it would look in motion, you know, when a beautiful car comes by slowly while you are walking on the sidewalk and turns at the corner to the right in front of you as you wait for the walk light, and you can't not look...as you drink in every detail before it drives out of sight. This car has that thing...that enigmatic, sexual thing going on.
  14. Absolute Buick perfection. This is what a modern, sexy, cool Riviera should look like. I like everything about it, the proportions, the ambient lighting, even the doors. Really like the fastback profile.
  15. And your statement adds something to the debate?....and you are any better? This is a very serious threat in a public place. I kept re-reading your words over and over, thinking, I can't be actually seeing what I'm seeing. Simply stunned. I come here as a fan of GM, cars and car culture. It would sure be nice not to have to see this type of vicious, hateful talk.

Did you know that Oldsmobile pioneered the use of turbo-chargers in production cars? It was the 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire Sport Coupe. http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/bv/...f85_jetfire.htm 1963 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire Turbo

  21. This decade sure will be known for the big headlight. So overdone. It's so out of proportion especially with small wheels like here on the Yukon. I'm surprised the Hybrid has no vinyl roof option.
