  1. Sly, great photos of that prototype Fiero. Best I've seen. Photos of this car seem kind of rare.
  2. Now don't go get all 'Consumer Reports' on us lol......I'm still facinated by these guys who try to make their own cars. Even the 'cheesy' ones. I hope there will always be these crazy car nuts around.
  3. It certainly would have revitalized Fiero. There appears to be some Firebird inspiration in the design. I still like the later fastback 6cyl Fieros.....they still look good today.
  4. Correct. I've got to find harder stuff. You guys know way too much.
  5. France, many, many years ago used to be known for some of the most beautiful cars in the world. Now, with Renault, they may have some of the most awkward, homely cars on the planet. No wonder the Nissan Quest van is so ugly...it has Renault parenthood. I think sometimes French auto stylists try too hard to be different. They just end up looking weird.
  6. Nice to be reminded of these cars. I sometimes underappreciate the last generation Camaro. They really are quite nice.
  7. What car is this?
  8. Ya, I guess it has a German esthetic, dna if you will, since it looks so much like the Chrysler Sebring who's parent company is German. The showcar was so special...hot looking. But they have watered it down in production mode. The thing about the Aura that is inspired is that finally Saturn is getting some good looking cars after years of hideous.
  9. See same item in an earlier thread in Industry News.

    The Dale

This was a facinating story about a three wheeled car, a transvestite and fraud in the 70's. The Dale three wheeled car was designed by Dale Clift and marketed by Liz Carmichael. It was covered widely in print and television media during the gas crisis of that period. But things weren't all that they appeared. The company was investigated and fraud, grand theft and securities violations was discovered. Only about 3 prototypes were built. One is in the Petersen Museum. And Liz went to prison. Later it was also discovered that Liz Carmichael was a 200 lb transvestite who was born Jerry Dean Michael. Not that there is anything wrong with that. 1975 Dale brochure:
  11. When Cadillac or Buick bring back a pillarless 2-door hardtop, I will literally go outside and dance in the streets. Mercedes has brought back this very American style. Something still so sexy about a hardtop coupe with all the windows down on a summer's day.
  12. I find these little auto companies so interesting. Especially North American. I'm always facinated by the ingenuity of these risk takers. There are more than most would think. I think I've seen it all and heard all there is to hear and then I stumble upon the Brubaker Box.
  13. Our local newspapers have a auto insert on Fridays and they tested this car and raved about it. It really is a nice car and a bargain too. I like the look of it better than the coupe.
  14. So true about those GM minivans. I was helping someone check a Saturn Relay out. Went to release the rear seat back and the release tab just busted off in my hand. Some of the brandnew vans in the lot already had rust/discoloration on the side rub strip(it has a shiny insert). Top of sliding doors having mysterious shallow dents for no reason...dealer said it was some engineering flaw. GM needs to scrap these vans soon.
  15. The writer forgot to mention one thing. The Malibu has to be one of the nerdiest looking cars on the market. The only thing that saves it, is in SS form.
  16. An interesting little Californian company started in 1970 by Curtis Brubaker. Here is his sporty mini-van based on a VW chassis, the Brubaker Box.

  18. When I see the current Chrysler Sebring sedans on the road...I think, man that looks very similar to the new Aura.

  20. Yes, but Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is the best city in the world to live.
  21. Of course Mr Balthazar is correct. Honestly I thought it would take a while. Phew, you guys are good. Here's another one...what vehicle is this?
  22. 1994 Chevrolet Impala SS
  23. What vehicle is this?
  24. Snap-On tools used to be quite racy back in the 50's.
  25. Although I recoil at the idea, if it came down to a choice, I would rather GM hook up with an American company than a foreign one.
